Matt, my RAZR is running great on the update. Would there be anything you could use for your utility or anything, that could be pulled off of it using my XP laptop or Linux desktop?

If so, let me know. Be glad to do what I can. If there is any software that's needed to pull it, let me know and I'll see I can find it.

I hope y'all know this was an accident, and should not be treated as an official update. I called VZW and they said it was not their intent, that is why it was pulled from the servers. Besides, Wizzed is running 4.1.2 Soooooo, yeah. Screw this update.

Sorry 4.2.1 was a typo.

Every "unofficial" 4.2.1 I've seen is buggy. Granted, this is only 4.1, but everything works flawlessly.

So,I wonder what they will do for people who took the update. Wouldn't they have to support/replace it?

Regardless, it went out to some phones and less than tech savy people downloaded and installed, since it seemed to be an official update. It is MOTOROLA's responsibility to make sure that you can upgrade from this now.

This is not exactly the first time this has happened. LOL. We Bionic users have been through the process of an accidental release twice now. You'll love the process. First off, there's already a new build being tested so clearly this one ain't going to be the final release. (Hell, it's still using an ICS kernel, so, um, yea, it's not even close to done...it was the very first build....they haven't even had time to test it yet. It got pushed by accident directly after it was built.) However, since it was pushed, it's going to have to be supported. What will happen is they'll continue to work on the JB builds over the next few weeks, fixing bugs, etc. Once the final build is approved, that'll get pushed out to those still on ICS. Several days later a small update will get pushed to those who have this build installed to take them to the final JB build. So yes, they have to support it, but, just don't think because you have this installed you'll get the update sooner than those who don't. That has never been the way it worked for us Bionic owners.

So, given that, you have to ask yourself....if you've taken this build, you'e now committed to the JB path. If any new leaks do show up, do you take them or stay on this build? Tough call. OTOH, if any new leaks do show up, you should at least be able to get back to this one using Matt's unbrick util.

Non potest esse nisi unus

i agree on the 4.2.1 sti;ll having issues, but i still see the razr even in its first accidental release of 4.1.2 being pretty awesome, considering the gnex hasn't even seen 4.1.2 from vzw yet, its a good early build so far

Check out Wizzed Bean CNvi (4.1.2), and upgrade to safestrap 3.05, it fixes a couple issues.

Actually that is both VZW and Motos fault.

To JB Via the ss3.05 & Wizzed method... It's super stable and super quick. I had 20 processes running and it was still running like a champ.

Honestly i swore off JB until we got a JB kernel. But, being a crack flasher. I flashed it anyway. Now its my daily driver. Also it is sexy because its a galaxy note 2 clone.

Plus its just better.

Yes, you can come back via this method. As, it is just a Jelly Bean ROM.

Hope this helps you out. There are a couple small bugs in any JB build, because we still dont have a kernel. I can wait until the REAL OTA update gets pushed, then we get a tasty new kernel to play with. :D

Have you tried this after upgrading to the jelly been leak? I don't believe the op has upgraded the base yet so my guess is it won't boot.

I've been using this leak all day and I have noticed that the camera doesn't always work perfectly, the camcorder doesn't record at all, and now I notice that when I call someone, it is always speaker phone mode and I'm unable to toggle it off. Also, I can't seem to get notification/ringtone sound to work. Anyone experiencing these issues/have suggestions for a fix?

Any luck finding a solution to this? The camcorder does not work for me either and I cant do any video playback of previously recorded videos.

Good point, I agree with you there. If OP is on ICS .211 base they should be fine. As that is the route I took. .214 and .215 were pretty much unnessary to use.

Yes, and soon i'm sure someone will take the base from that and fix all of our JB issues. But it is still an ICS kernel. When the JB kernel is released, we will have true JB perfomance.

Any speculation as to whether this will be the final update for the Razr? Or will there possibly be a 4.2 update in the future? If this is it, should we assume VZW and/or Motorola will push updates to fix any bugs in this 4.1.2 update? Just curious... I'm running JB for now, but I have a replacement phone on its way that will be loaded with ICS. I'm wondering whether I should stick with ICS until I get another OTA update prompt or just update manually. Either way, I intend to root first and use Matt's instructions to keep root. Any thoughts?

They have to, but I would try to downgrade via Matt's utility
