Can you post the version of the kernel? I thought I read somewhere that it was the same kernel that we got on Bionic with our ICS release. Meaning I believe it's still an ICS kernel, albeit newer than your ICS build.

Go page 1 of this topic, a little over half way down. There's a screenshot of the build and kernel info.

Right, I knew I'd seen a screen shot somewhere. Yea, that's the same 3.0.8 kernel that we're running on Bionic for ICS.

Yes it is 3.08, but if you look closely at it the rest of the numbers/letters are different. There's a screenshot in Matt's OP of his How to Keep Root post that you can check to see the difference. That said, if the 3.0.8 part of it is what means it's ICS, then okay. My understanding of this is very limited, to be sure.

Is there a way to force a clean install after the JB update? Reinstalling the leak doesn't fix my problem... Neither does a factory reset.

3.0.8? Then yes, it is an ICS kernel. Confimed.

Nope, either wait for a patch or call VZW and demand a replacement.

I'm not 100% sure what the numbers after the 3.0.8 mean, but, 3.0.8 is significant. I'm almost positive that signifies it's an ICS kernel. But hey, look on the bright side, at least you got the same kernel we Bionic users got with our ICS build......after 11 failed ICS builds. :D LOL!

Bummer. I'll keep messing with it and see if I can figure out why it wont playback videos or record video. When I hit the button it tries to start and then just quits. MX player will play the video, but it is terrible quality and choppy. Everything else seems good.

Did they take out sleep mode? It doesn't show up when I hold the power button.

Also, is there still an option to change the battery to percent rather than an icon, as I don't see that anywhere either.

Lastly, with the security upped, is there any hope for those who failed to keep root in the future?

Hmmm, that sounds like the issues i was having with 4.2.1 odd. try: Pudding Camera (app) it may fix the video issue.

I believe everything you just listed are root-only features. I could be wrong though. Hope may come along later with an update or fix from Devs. Too soon to know right now though.

Matt said as far as he knows it's the same kernel. The numbers after (my thought now), mean it's a different version, but it is the same kernel.

All things considered thus far, I think I'll stick with ICS 211 when I get my replacement. If an OTA update is available, I'll take it. If not, I'll wait for some confirmation that whatever I'm updating to is official, whether it's this leak or the next one.

Can someone confirm if the camcorder and video playback is borked in this build? It sure is for me...

Camcorder works fine for me. No sleep mode, however. Weather widget is gone (downloaded the excellent Accuweather widget). Everything is working perfectly and I believe this will be the official build. My guess is they pulled it to avoid holiday-time tech support issues. We'll see.

That makes perfect sense to me. I wouldn't personally take this build if I had a RAZR knowing what we know. For those that did, I just hope new leaks are available, but, here's a naughty question....if you have to use Matt's method to get to a new leak, how do you retain root through the process? And if no new root exploit is made available for newer builds, um, hmmm. I'd probably have to give a little pause on that one. :)

You can't keep root if upgrading leaks with an Unstuck tool.

However Motorola has to give an OTA from this to official.
