now Im curious how Hashcode's rom works, use safestrap 3.? an install rom to safe side? does that make it safe to play around with?

Use ONLY SafeStrape 3.07, no lower version. Only .07 is 'approved' for JB.

I stayed on 211, used JB Dual boot program with safe strap 3.7 works great! Enables you to switch from 211 to new JB roms.

Matt I just wanted to thank you for your instructions for installing the update and keeping root. I took the plunge last night. I started with my max running safestrap 2.11, so I used your utility and rolled back to stock then followed your instructions to the letter. Safe to say I had no problems and I still have root. Thank you for all your work.

Does anyone here have a car dock with the audio in the charging cable? I no longer get the audio with JB.

Thanks,
Jim

This may be a Forest Gump issue for me, too. Phone was muted. As I put it in the dock and removed it, it did play, but that may be a different issue. I'll try again in the morning, Too cold and windy to play in the car!

Yay!! Followed the directions to the T and successfully rooted, installed jelly Bean and restored root on my MAXX. Restoring apps with Titanium Backup was kinda tedious and took up the most time. Might spring for the pro version for faster & automatic app restore. Should have done this long ago... I could have been enjoying some nice custom roms. Every question I had was answered in these 30 something pages.

If that was possible, rooting the razr would be a snap!

So i took the plunge and sideloaded it while eating at wild wing cafe and not reading too far into it. Retained root throughout and all is well. Since i have got home i have read more and more that this might have been a EFF up by moto and some folks are getting warrantee replacements and sh!t. My question to anyone who might know is, Are we now off the upgrade path like the folks who pulled off CC a while back? Is this not the build that was meant for the masses? Are we screwed?

LOL I know it might seem a little gloomy and hell everything seems functional, at least the stuff i use. Just a question from an impulsive crackflasher.

I don't understand the concern about being 'off the upgrade path'. I could never wait for the carrier to release an upgrade. As soon as it's leaked, I download it. If it's not official I download it anyway and then load the official ROM when it's released.

The concern is that this will be the last update I will ever receive and it could be a buggy beta release...

So I am concerned about having a permanently crappy phone.

I read all the early comments before loading and this one seemed all good. I understand your concern. Many Verizon customers were very unhappy with ICS when it was forced on them.

I think if you really read most of the posts you would come away with the impression that this release is a good one. I can say that this is the best my phone has run since I got it and I've been on quite a few different ROMS so hopefully your install went well and you enjoy this erroneous release. I'm sure when the next one gets pushed it will be posted here immediately!

Motorola has to release an update to this version regardless.

Best any of our phones have ran since our bugless beast days on our og Droids- our prior phones.

Yes, we're the schmucks that hang onto a phone for 2 plus years.
