typically a factory wipe does not wipe system (where superuser and su live) it only wipes data so you should not loose root

So Would SU show Back Up After A Factory Reset? Then Download Voodoo And Restore Root? Not Sure Why I Even Care. Just Being Ocd About Deleting A System App.

Used Droid Utility 1.8.2, followed instructions, worked perfectly and retained root with Voodoo root keeper. Now I just need a 1% battery mod for jb and I will be set!

If you add a notification widget using Widgetsoid it will add a battery percentage to your status bar. Just an option you could try for now. I'm not on JB so Idk if it will work still.

These are the steps I did... Downloaded 3.06, uninstalled 3.05, installed 3.06 apk, opened 3.06, installed all the stuff it asked me to do, rebooted into recovery & backed up stock JB with SS 3.06. You might have skipped one of those steps of it FC.

I don't have any other recovery installed. When I install it, and try to open it then it forces closes before the app even appears

You have saved my phone, which I'm grateful for. Actually, my phone is running smooth as butter, although I did loose root. Then again, that's a small price to pay for my stupidity. Thanks again Matt, hopefully we'll have root soon and recovery close behind.

I did the same thing.. Trying to avoid losing data... When you did the unbrick did you lose all your data?

Yes su and root access should still be there... and I understand being OCD about deleting system apps.... :) I am (used to be) the same way lol

Couldn't hold back any longer and pulled the trigger. Had zero issues. Used Matt's utility, rooted, Voodoo'd, and installed. Root came back and I changed over to SuperSU (by Chainfire) and away we go.

Cannot thank this community enough, great work to Matt and everyone else involved (too many to keep track of). This is hands down one of the best sites out there. My advice to anyone thinking of pulling the trigger.....Read the OP...slowly. And then go back to the top and work your way down step by step. I went slow, been mucking around with this for the past few hours but it was worth it. Might not be Jelly Bean, but better than ICS. I think we should really call this....Jelly Cream ;)

Only issues I have had is connecting to exchange, but Im working on it. Wifi and 4g connected right away and my 4g bars are normally where they are at in this area. True test will be when I get home and I teeter on 3g/4g

Will you be releasing a tool in the near future for JB like the 1.82 I have been using on ICS? I moved on to JB following your direction successfully but have since soft bricked my phone and have no way to factory reset.

You said you were successful in the doing the update... what did you do to soft brick? .... and can you still boot into stock recovery?

I have the same problem. That and my phone is on speaker at full volume and no matter what I do it stays that way. I was extra careful to follow Matt's directions. The only thing I haven't done is wipe cache and try a factory reset since doing the update. I did get a message when trying to do the update that the SD card needed to be installed, but then I pressed vol up and down at the same time and it then started the update. Kind of weird. I did manage to maintain root but my pulldown looks no different than stock Moto ICS. I'm wondering if I have remains from ICS and a partial update. Can I do a factory reset, rewipe cache and redo the update? Also, my update DL was 329gb, not 331. I redownloaded it from one of the mirrors and it was the same size.

I just downloaded the free version of the "AquaMail" email client app and it works fine with this leak so I'd try it if you are having trouble with the native email client. It also has a dark mode and is very customizable so I think it is actually better.

Ok, this is my third post for the same issue, and while I realize people have day jobs and such, I am hoping that Matt or someone with a "real" clue can help.

Unlike the majority of users here, I am not a N00b and I have read everything multiple times, but still cant get past the Status 7 error (mine is occurring on lte.img.

instead of using matt's utility try downoading the fastboot file and using rsdlite. sometimes people have luck using rsd rather than the utility, and sometimes the utility works better than rsd. different situations i suppose....i used rsdlite to go back to .211, factory reset, root, then followed op directions and worked.try rsdlite see if that does anything different.

Are you going to Motorola recovery or to clockwork recovery. This has to be done in Motorola recovery.

Doesn't have the same launcher as the RAZR M.. If you check in this and other threads, people have figured out how to install it on the RAZR.

Battery Circle actually shows 1% whereas the one you suggest does not. Although I do really like the look of your suggested widget better. Will have to keep it in mind once someone creates a 1% battery mod.

Battery widget reborn does show 1%. I used it for months. Might be a settings check box or reboot needed.

I'm running it. Had to do the unbrick procedure and I'm stuck without root though. I'm pretty happy with it.

I've heard people have ringtone and call issues.

Reduced data and WiFi reception

Only cons of the leak whatsoever.

What is the unbrick procedure you mention? I soft bricked after going to JB and am stuck.

I fastbooted some parts of .211 and applied the update in recovery. It was around 2AM so I don't exactly remember. I can give no guarantees, but I would say fastboot .211 and than apply the update in recovery.
