Anyone one try reinstalling ss3?

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

Just did and it did work for me.

UPDATE: It may have installed and allowed me to "use it", I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. At one point it caused a corruption while restoring a test backup I made of the new update. I think that's mainly due to the fact that SS3 was designed around ICS. I'm just speculating.

The Corruption caused a soft brick, so I used RU 1.82 to see if it would help. Reflashed ICS, never got it to boot up all the way. Then went into stock recovery and reflashed the update. Which I can safely say works perfectly. for those wondering.

Can someone shoot me the stock logwrapper file from 211? My backup logwrapper.bin is the same as my logwrapper so the update fails. Would make my life a lot easier then starting all over again.

Thanks!

Mike

It is the same base kernel version (3.0.8) and is the incorrect version for JB. This is because this was never meant for release. JB is technically supposed to be based on a Linux 3.0.31

This accidentally released build you guys are running is working off the same principal a Cyanogen/AOKP build does. It takes advantage of the fact that the ICS kernel and JB kernel are technically compatible.

With that known, is it worth the headache to update?

I keep seeing people assume thus update was not supposed to be released. But my wifes razr literally just got the update. If it was a mistake yesterday as some say, then my wife would not get the update now so I am not so sure

Two quick question:
1)does project butter make the difference?
2)Are Camera options and quality improved?

Dude...you're awesome. JB is awesome. I am so happy to have a working build of JB on my Droid RAZR with a camera that actually works WITH THE FLASH!! Screen rotates great...and I can send MMS...best of all. I'm still rooted, and that's thanks to you Matt. Kudos!!

I'll have to check my info. I thought Moto announced they were done with it. Anybody know?

It stays for us, not added in new devices.

I've followed the instructions fully. I get to the last step (the actual loading of the update). I try selecting the stock recovery. I see the red M logo for a few seconds and then the dead Android with a red caution sign appears. What am I doing wrong? Edit: God damn it.. it's been a while. N00b indeed!

Press the volume up/down button at that point and it should load the stock recovery

Matt,
Thanks for everything... went to be last night with JB but no root and Santamatt came for a visit while I was asleep dreaming of Jellybean Fairies and gave me root back!

AWESOME!
