I followed instructions and kept root. But no one answered my question if we need to delete the backup root su after restoring root :)

No need. and with 11 pages I can't be expected to read them all.

Not saying you have to, but when I restore root with root keeper and I've verified that I have actual root access, I typically delete the root backup and have it make a new one. More of a superstition than anything.

So, you can't AP Fastboot and use the 1.81 Utility to go BACK to .211?

What kind of evil and diabolical things would take place if I attempted this? (Obviously the Mayans could not have foreseen this issue!)

I know this is a stupid question, but will matt's flasher restore the root even after a factory reset with this rom?

Factory reset simply wipes data. not system :)

For those who lost root, give me the out-put on the screen if it doesn't work:

Windows Only Note: Don't have USB Mass Storage enabled. Note 2: I reuploaded it with a fixed root checker for the end.

Updated root fixer....

You need to restore your /preinstall partition to its stock condition. One way would be to use Matt's 1.81 or 1.82 utility and fastboot back to .211.

It won't matter because apply patch in adb can be used to get us to any newer leak if there is one.

Here's what your flasher said when I tried it Matt:

/system/bin/sh: su: can't execute: Permission denied

any idea what that means? Thanks for all your help by the way, I really appreciate it!

You can't go back to .211 but if you check my post (#263) I was able to restore my system enough to take the update.

You want to be rooted AND have the protect root backup in place prior to taking the update. Follow the directions in the op.

was able to download the zip, followed matt's directions exactly as he posted and works 100%. Rootkeeper restored root. All seems good.
