Jellybean Rolling Out for the Original Verizon DROID RAZR! **How to Keep Root**

Lock screen missing on all settings
Notification bar shows nothing but time, settings icon, and Verizon branding
Home and Search button so not respond what-so-ever (not touch sensor, cease to function on webdock as well. INCLUDING the software home button)
Vibrate doesn't seem to function
Power off menu doesn't have anything except power off...
seemingly random 4G and WiFi reception drops (not to 0 bars... but down to 2 bars from maxed out for no reason)
These are just a few things I've noticed in the few minutes I've been running this update. I'm going to assume that a factory reset will drop my root like every other build so I don't particularly want to do that.

So far these are all the broken things I've run into and would appreciate if someone else can confirm or if I just got a bad flash. To clarify, I used the method mattlgroff posted and have root.

What do you mean its missing in settings?
That's what the status bar is supposed to do...
All soft keys work perfectly for me
Don't know about vibrate
Power Menu also has airplane mode and volume toggles
Not getting drops, just signal isn't as good.
You got some weird problems with your build lol

On all settings... as in the lock screen doesn't appear when set to pin, slide, password... etc.

So it's supposed to be blank and not show any notifications? Didn't think so.
Probably a bad flash then... I'll try to factory reset and see how that goes. Else I guess I'll be trying out some fastboot. All soft keys work perfectly for me

+1Thanks a million times Matt.................Just updated both of my Razr's and kept the wifi tether from verizon using the 1-0 method and everything is still kicking. I have been reading through the comments and I think too many peeps that are just itching to throw this on are making some mistakes that could be avoided if they would have ever rooted or used a rom or flashed a phone at all. ( Not trying to be an gluteus maximus but I think this is the prob. ) I have had 6 shots of Rumple tonight and flashed this without any probs.
Once again Matt thank you sooooooooooooo much!

Does not appear I was able to retain root of can anyone confirm they still have root access after upgrading?

I may be missing something but from the OP "(Yes, we did that twice. And no, you do not want to be Temp. Unrooted when you update.)" you shouldn't be temp unrooted before flashing.Does not appear I was able to retain root of can anyone confirm they still have root access after upgrading?

No root here either...
Root only appears to work in TiBU and Nova Launcher for me (was able to run backups in TiBU without a hitch). The SU app only shows those two apps as allowed, even though Automatic Response has been set to either 'Prompt' or 'Allow' (currently set to 'Allow'). In the Voodoo app, everything under 'Status' is checked except for 'Root permission granted'.
I backed up root with Voodoo, and Idid not temp. unroot before flashing. However, I did not update the SU binaries before flashing (still on 3.0.3.2).

You have to be temporary unrooted when applying the update. If you dont you'll lose root.

If this is the case then the OP needs to be updated. It specifically says opposite of this.
