I'm at my wits end. I've tried a multitude of methods on both mac and pc and can't get the process to complete. Either i can decompile but can't compile or using another method i can't decompile.
Any help on how to get this done is greatly appreciated

I use apk multi tool and have no issues. You have your java environment set up? You changing XML or .pngs? Things don't compile for me if there are errors in the xml that I changed.

Make sure you have the necessary frameworks installed when you decompile.

I've tried apk manager, multi-tool, decompiling manually and nothing works. Not sure if it's a Samsung thing or Jelly Bean, or just my setup.
jdk has been installed and setup my environment (Windows). I gave up on Mac as it's even more difficult. Even if I only decompile, then compile without changes, it fails.
I've also installed both framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk
Going to try this from a fresh install (again) and see if I get this working.

I use apk tool. I've had the same problem with a couple of apks; for some reason Gmail and Chrome will not decompile correctly with it.
