My Dilemma,  was using Safe strap and accidentally deleted something I shouldnt have, so I got the black screen of death. I was able to get the phone into fastboot somehow, even though I couldnt tell if the phone was on or off, due to the black screen, I had to listen for the beeps when plugged into the computer to tell. Anyway, I cant flash to stock with razr utility because it needs a charge and fastboot says battery is dead and wont proceed. I have used the stock cable and now the phone shows one continuous white led when I plug it in and doesnt charge. I tried the RSD lite program and that failed too. Any suggestions?

Look for a team black hat adapter. If you tried flagging on a lot battery, there is a good chance that you've bricked it.

Ok I solved it myself, the black hat adapter link on this site is dead so I had to search around and found out it is called a motorola factory cable or fastboot cable and they can be had on EBay for 8-10 bucks, problem solved I got one ordered.

im back to stock rom using the razr utility after hooking up the fastboot cable, the phone restored and booted up fine even from a horrendously bricked state. One issue I have now is that when I unplug the factory fastboot adapter the phone shuts off completely. I went through everything trying to figure out why, and nothing. I can only assume my phone was so dead and sat around so long, that it just didnt want to charge. Since the fastboot cable is not a charging cable I had to improvise. What I did was take the battery out and solder an old moto charger I cut down directly onto the battery ribbon lead, put it outside and let it charge for a few hrs. I reinstalled the battery back in the phone and voila. I forgot to mention you have to be somewhat insane to try and remove a razr maxx battery in the first place since you will most likely break the rear cover or frame getting it out. It is very obvious that whoever designed this phone did not want anybody taking the battery out in a timely manner, Or at all!! Alot of crap to do to save an old cell phone but I cant help but like it, its fast and its a 4g phone. Despite all my newer phone options nowadays I still like my razr.
