I have no interest in running no encryption. Now days with phones being a hot target for theft, I want to keep things locked, and I have very sensitive info on my phone.

I saw this workaround yesterday when I was browsing the NX6 threads dreaming of the day when Unicorn Express will be delivering mine and haven't made up my mind if I want to try it. I guess I'll have to see how the mythical beast performs to see if you get enough of a performance increase to justify the decreased security. Of course, I don't keep any sensitive information on my phone and I certainly don't use it or the N7 to purchase things online with credit cards so i'm not sure how much of a security risk there is in that case.

I think the encryption will force you to have some sort of lock on the device, at least thats what reading about it seems to say.....

Which brings me to my previous post. I get the need for encryption but since I am not locking my device down, and by going with a Nexus, I should be given the ability to turn off a service if I choose to.Actually, no. You can have encrypted data without having a lock screen. Doing so, however, defeats the purpose of the encryption as anyone with the device has access.

Even a pattern lock is better than Nada

And it looks like you can set up Blue-tooth devices as trusted devices so you can unlock your phone when you connect to one of those. I think that will probably be the way I go so that the phone unlocks when it connects to my BT headset that I use to listen to audio books while driving.
