What's wrong with cm ?
I thought that this was CM based, but better. It does seem there was a handful of people that also thought that, otherwise would we have kept posting in this thread?

I will apologize in advance for posting this here but I can't seem to find the Blisspop thread anywhere. I've been away for awhile so I'm really clueless what happened to the thread.

LOL! This was just an unofficial build of CM source, anyone that can repo sync and enter a build command can build it. They even have instructions on how to do it.
As technology advances, my nerdiness level has only decreased over the years. I am happy I can sufficiently flash the roms. I will stick to building things with tools.

Free nprevette and free Blisspop, you can't enforce your ideology on a programmer. If people wanna kang / pirate that's their philosophy.

why not? rules are rules. and if one doesn't follow, then why would anyone else, then again there is the saying rules are meant to be broken. Maybe things will change after some time, and maybe he will get to come back. Who knows. I am dissppointed he isn't here, but if you are smart enough to flash, you are probably smart enough to find other resources on the internet was well

"Kanging" is the basis of Android development, and there's no issues with it, as long as you give credit where credit is due. He did give credit for this part of it. However, I believe the issue here was piracy and hacking of paid apps. That's not cool.Free nprevette and free Blisspop, you can't enforce your ideology on a programmer. I disagree with, but understand the banning of the user. The ROM contains no illegal content, so it should still be able to be distributed here. Its one of, if not the best LP ROM for the legacy RAZR devices, and it was exclusive for the longest time to DroidRZR. This is just pushing a lot of users away from the site. It's a shame."Kanging" is the basis of Android development, and there's no issues with it, as long as you give credit where credit is due. He did give credit for this part of it. Kanging is exactly the opposite of giving credit where it is due. It also extends to not maintaining authorship in the history of your commits. If these small, easy to follow, critera are met there is no "kanging". So it is incorrect to say that it is the basis of Android development. It is the basis of being dishonest or just lazy. I just wanted to clear that up.

I honestly don't know if any of you guys understand, appreciate or even really care about the reputation that TeamBliss has in the dev community. There have been issues on a few different occasions, involving multiple devs, of not giving credit for, or not maintaining the authorship of commits related to the features in that ROM. The standard response from TeamBliss when asked to correct these issues is basically "go f yourself" I understand this means nothing to most users who just want a ROM they like, but here is why you should care. The open source community relies on respect and common courtesy from one group to another. When a Team takes and takes from the community and fails to meet even the slightest minimums of respect towards other devs, while not contributing much of ANYTHING back, it will drive out the people who do things right and those who actually create, port, improve or fix the features you all like. They will either say "screw it I'm done" or just go closed source for their features. Guess who that really hurts? THE USER.
Sincerely,
Just a dude who doesn't pirate apps and maintains proper authorship

Yeah, that makes sense. I guess was just kind of mixing up terms.Kanging is exactly the opposite of giving credit where it is due. And to further clarify, kanging, while bad, is not what got them banned. Posting pirated apps is. What people are failing to understand is the liability to the site that it opens up. It CAN'T be tolerated due to that liability. I get that people think it's "no big deal" but the reality for the site is that it is.

What app/apps are the ones that were basically stolen?
Posted 28 April 2015 - 11:03 AM
A link was posted to a Google Drive account that had patched apps to get premium features, like Titanium Backup and Pandora. None were preloaded in the ROM. A Better Camera unlocked was included with author permission.

I thought that patched app was included in the rom! If not, he should not be banned! Moderators can consider it as mistake, ban for few days, remove the link and continue. Really stupid reason to lose such good guy and developer.
I'm rare here, now will be even less. I like Motorola but this forum is not friendly at all (even some claims that is) and less and less useful too.

It DOES NOT MATTER if it was included the in the ROM or not. The FACT is that the rule was broken, and the consequences are clear for anyone who cares to read the rules, period.I thought that patched app was included in the rom!
