...in every attempt to download and/or to install, it seems to keep stored somewhere on my internal memory (since at every attempt I have less storage available).

Razr XT925, unlocked JBBL, stock 4.1.2 unrooted.

Any of you guys has experienced something like that? Is there any workaround in order to install the OTA KK successfully?!?

Thanks you in advance for your time and attention!

Cheers!

the download ends up in the cache folder....and you need to be at Stock in order to take an OTA

Install your JB firmware vía fastboot and try to download de OTA again..

Before that make a backup of all your data because fastboot will erase all..

Thanks guys, Im running a stock 4.1.2 SBF flashed via RSD lite.

It fails when attempting to download or when attempting to install the OTA KK via cell phone. When I try to download it using Motorola Device Manager, the software says there isnt any updates available!

Don't update using ota. It's more of a headache. Just flash the fxz.

Which 4.1.2 firmware did you flash? With the international version HD you have to be sure you are using the one for your area. Which is your area?

I had to remove some lines from the stock SBF and it got rid of all Bootloader menu errors.

I still having an error every time I use mfastboot

(bootloader) Variable not supported!

target max-download-size: 30MB

...however, the process seems to went well! Go figure!!

Ive tried the whole process several times since last week and it always fail when I try to flash the OTA via JB custom recovery...and the error message always talk about "Updater binary in zip" and this is the modified updater zip from the OP. So, Im almost 100% sure that the problem is related/caused by that file and it definitely need to be reviewed! Ive the file isolated but I dont know how to open, nor how to edit it!

After one week battling with this, Im desperate already and im just in the verge of trying this procedure

If you're using the stock OTA, it will almost always fail with an aftermarket recovery.  You'll need to flash an OTA.zip in the stock recovery.

ill try that since trying to install through a custom recovery

in philz

assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "vanquish_u" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "vanquish_u"
getprop("ro.product.device") == "vanquish_u" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "vanquish_u"
E: error in

status 7
installation aborted

but its correct in build.prop

and wont install cm11 jbbl either
this product is for xt925, 926 etc.
status 7 installation aborted.

RSDLite shows device connected as Fastboot VANQUISH_U S

i figured it out. just leave all stock, accept update from about phone system updates and let moto do its thing.

then flash twrp kk, install it by going to bootloader vol down recovery vol up (this has to be done quickly, if not it'll just install stock recovery) and from there you have twrp backup, flash kkbl roms, su etc.

still a mess i think

Actually, the above procedure was the only way I could manage to achieve my goal...KKBL/Kernel3.4.x!

Yeah!
