I optimized my sysctl prior to that benchmark, along with performance cpu governor and noop io governor. Hence the bump in CPU and dip in I/O.

Also I've been hot rebooting like crazy. I think my phone keeps overheating. :( The A/C in my house is pretty bad so I'm sitting on 75F ambient temp. This doesn't appear to agree with whatever new kernel tweaks appeared in RC3.

OK, I definatly found a problem with the nightly from the 30th. It says I've used 106gb data.... About 2 hours ago it was at 20gb... Lol

Sent from my Banana Phone using Tapatalk 2

yea i noticed some ridiculous data usage on rc3. it gave me a data usage warning a day after i flashed the rom, it displayed browser using up 6gb of data. i barely used it once to look up something on google. luckily i'm on unlimited and doesn't really bother me. i see rc4 is released so i'm gonna hop to that and see if its any better.

So far so good. Installed rc3, was prompted for rc4 so let it do its thing. Been using all day and calls work, gps works playing Ingress, and no other issues so far.

Was getting a lot of random reboots on RC3. They seem to have stopped since installing RC4.

Yeah CM team said that RC3 had a bug that made it difficult to calculate complex math problems causing a bunch of RC3 users to get that Data Usage warning. Don't worry, it didn't use that much. It was just a bug. Thats why they pushed RC4. So everyone shouuld avoid RC3.

yeah RC4 definitely needed a fix in permissions for me as well. I had the Phone activity freeze my phone when i got my first call on RC4 and also black screens of death before fixing permissions. Now everything seems to be working smooth.

GPS is locking in but takes about 15 seconds to find location when you open maps for the first time after boot up. but after that, works great

Has anyone had significant benefit from the RCs (release candidates) over the nightlies? I've been upgrading nightlies every several days and enjoying the progression but would consider using RC 4 if there is significant advantage or stability to it.

Personally haven't been experiencing much problem with any of the nightlies except for a few oddities (like MMS sending not going through) and contacts with personalized ringtones changing to no ring tones when updating to a new nightly.

Significant? Not sure about that but I prefer running the RCs. I think many of the nightlies don't even have changes but they get built automatically. I'll stick to the RCs if available.

So i'm on RC4. Wiped dalvik/cahe after install, rebooted... had to go back and fix permissions to get audio working again. But now I can't send or receive MMS... Thought this issue was fixed LONG ago...

i seem to be having the same exaggerated data usage problem on RC4 that was also on RC3. anyone else? been 2 days and and i'm already getting data usage warnings, incorrectly saying i've used 22gb already.

Seems funny to me that the release candidate has more bugs than previous nightlies. The kernel is wicked fast starting with 5/29 tho.

I installed RC3 fresh then let it update itself to RC4 (pretty much with barely a rest period after install) and no warnings here.

Thank God that this is just a bug and not actual usage!!! I'm also on unlimited, but I don't want to get throttled either. Got the data usage warning, and it shows the Google Play Store used 13GB of data in just 8 hours.

I flashed the Nightly (10.1-20130601-NIGHTLY-targa) yesterday, so the bug is still there. Is this data usage bug related to the bad battery performance that I'm also getting? I dropped 27% without any phone usage what-so-ever (my phone sits in a locker all day).
