I have followed the steps to flash the "Verizon 4.1.2 ota update" to check it out and all (I thought went well), now however I keep getting this popup saying "verizon services has stopped working".  Any idea on how I can narrow it down as to what has stopped working and how to fix it?  It's popping up every 10 seconds and it seems to start happening as soon as the screen is on.

Also I can tell already I don't like this near as much sooooo what do I do to get SS back on, I still have root?  Do I do a factory reset??

Thanks,

Marty

I seem to get the "something has stopped working" error if i have something frozen or disabled what that process needs. Did you freeze anything on stock side right away?

Eric

Marty,

If you still have root, you just need to reinstall the SS apk. Load it up and press install recovery. From there, you can reboot and flash to your heart's content.

SWEET !  Doing it now at work can't wait until tonight this popup is driving me crazy!

No I have not froze anything but instead of trying to figure it out (don't know where to look) I'm going to see if I can't get SS back on because I still have root and do a recovery.  Thanks for the help.

since these jb roms are starting to go back to orginial kernal, should it still matter which slot they are in? i thought kexec was what was requiring certain slots.

Uninstall Maps, turn off location settings. reboot, turn on location settings, reinstall Maps.

I just booted into recovery and fixed permissions under Advanced. Rebooted and GPS got a lock right away. I'm not sure how that actually fixes it but I saw someone else post this fix earlier and I didn't have to worry about uninstalling anything.

Can you by any chance post a screen shot?  My phone is down right now, trying to find another place to get gapps as the server at goo.im is running sloooowww.

thanks,

Marty

Not sure where else you can get gapps, and I don't think that you can take a screen shot while in recovery. Just reboot your phone, and make sure you select menu to go into safe strap recovery. Advanced is the bottom left option and then fix permissions is the top right . I hope that helps!

Damn.  Can't even get gps on ics now.  Errrrggghhh.  No time for this crap right now.  Have no desire to boot to unsafe side.

4/26 nightly is up and audio is fixed. Ringtones work. Now I can try using Bytecode's new kernel.

A bit confused but then again I'm a noobe.  I've got booked mark 2 sites to get nightlies and was wondering if they are the same files come from each?

Byte's kernel allowed me to overclock to 1200. Mine had been stuck at 1000. Quadrant scores using Hotplug governor were 3544. Noice.

Yes, but the get.cm link is the official CM repository. Hash puts the builds up at the other one once they're compiled. That's why when I checked a few seconds ago the 4/26 was posted on get.cm but not yet on sts-dev site.

Crap spoke to soon. I used my old rom 4-20 because speakerphone worked but not GPS but now I did "fix permissions" in SS and GPS working mic is not.  Google now crashes with mic etc.  Anyone having luck with GPS and MIC on any Rom's that are on the site? (4-26 BTW is not down).  Sorry for all the stupid posts today. Sheesh retarded.
