Looks like you may have missed a step. After you use Voodoo OTA updater to protect root, you must then click temp unroot, so that it keeps the backup that will be used to restore root access  . When you have JB installed, you go back to Voodoo to regain root.

Not really necessary to "click temp unroot" based on all of the forum postings: I didn't and I retained root. When it boots back up, you open Voodo and tell it to restore root if it indicates that..

No, I left out that step on purpose. I read from multiple sources that the temp unroot step is optional. The thing that prevents most OTA updates, from what I understand, is using a custom recovery. That is why you need to remove safestrap or any other custom recovery in order to update. You still need to use the Voodoo OTA to protect root, but I was able to update and regain my root after the OTA without the Temp Unroot process.

does this have anything to do with cm101?  Maybe someone should start a thread for the OTA and we can get back to  the topic........

Ok, managed to install and run this rom and quite happy using the latest nightly.  However, for reasons that someone perhaps could explain, the speakerphone only works for inbound communication.  I cannot use it to talk to anyone.  Any thoughts would be most appreciated.  B)

need to start an aokp thread, i guess. hotspot works fine on liquid 4/16 and cm 4/17 but its been borked on aokp since 4/12.. even tether for root users has been bad on all aokp since 4/12 for me . aany word on if speakermic for speakerphone and ffv is in the lineup ? those 2 are the only real holdups from dd status for me till a jb fxz with root comes along.

I ended up installing the OTA and kept root. I reinstalled SS, then created slot 1 and installed the 4/15 nightly as it was running fine before I tried 4/16. It installed and I'm running it now, but I've had three random reboots so far. On the last one CM wouldn't load the first time. I then wiped cache and I'm on it now posting this.

I hope this doesn't keep happening. Until the 4/16 nightly I've never really had any issues.

I haven't installed the OTA, and this was happening for me on the 4/17 as well. Every so often it would reboot, or just go to a black screen with the keys at the bottom lit up, but otherwise unresponsive. Had to scale back to 4/15

Me too with the locked black screen. Had a couple FC's too & had to pull the battery.

On version 4/4/2013 nightly. Still using it as my DD though :)

I have had some of the black screens also, you don't need to pull the battery, just hold down the power button it will reset.
