I mean no offense by this, but you may want to hold out on immediately flashing this until the pros (unless of course you are one of them, then my bad) get ahold of this and confirm there are no issues and it in fact can be rooted. This is based off issues from other updates sent to other phones. Just a FYI.

This. Plus, the soak emails going out doesn't mean ota is like tomorrow.

Personally, I'm just going to chill in my roms until an fxz is made available and we know the build is rootable

This +1. Compounded by the fact that I'm already running 4.2.2 and the ota is going to be 4.1...

is anyone having issues with the camera? I updated to 4/1 and didnt' notice until yesterday that the camera wasn't working. So i wiped cache/dalvik to see if it would help, but it didn't. I deleted the slot and started fresh and it still isn't working. I'm on 4/3 at the moment. Anyone?

I am going to wait till the devs extract the kernel out and hook it up to the latest cm10.1 code base.

cm 4/3 tether is broken for me , tried all the usual, nojoy. 4/3 aokp it works fine on, though the Bluetooth strength/signal seems to be down a bit on both, maybe just my pos plantronics bud getting old.

cm tether as in the usb tether? on 4/2 the wifi wouldn't work so I couldn't use wifi tether but 4/3 is working just fine. If you are using wifi tether make sure you set device to generic wlan0

Only thing I want the soak OTA for is to see if it has the old headphone whine fix from .893, so the devs can tear it apart and figure out how it works.

My assumption is that it's a software fix for a hardware problem. There's a noise coupling issue inside the phone on a hardware level and on the .893 build I assume Moto implemented a software filter that isolated and removed the frequency associated with the whine. Certainly not ideal, from an audiophile point-of-view, but it's a phone - not a high-end audio system. :)

Software fix to the problem would be excellent.

I'd the GPS broken? Just flashed the 4/3 nightly and can't get lock.

Edit: looks like is just the clock widget. Other apps are getting location fine.

Currently running 4/3

Been having problems with Bluetooth (had the same problem on 4/1). When I originally flashed, it seemed that I could turn bluetooth on. I just tried to use it today however, and it wont even let me turn bluetooth on.

Related, this is a problem in my car because I listen to music through bluetooth. I decided to switch over to the AUX port, but the for some reason google now voice search kept popping up. Just tried with headphones and the problem wasnt happening.

Gunna flash 4/4 now and see if anything changes.

Update: Confirming bluetooth WILL turn on and is functioning on 4/4, for now at least.

I don't care how they solve it I just want it solved. That so many phones went out with this problem and it hasn't been fixed in a year and half is a complete joke.
oh and forget high end. if i had a cassette player that produced this sound i would have returned it. every sound from the headphone jack regardless of the source causes this horrible whine that gives (me at least) a headache after just a few minutes of listening.

i'm plenty chill and very thankful to hashcode and all the devs for their hard work but if you think i should be thanking moto you are smoking some crack. Stock doesn't solve the whine, nothing but the 893 GB build has so far. I'm not even being negative I just agree with my fellow posters that this audio whine is a priority for us and we hope the JB OTA solves it.
If you don't have it consider just yourself lucky don't hassle me about it being mundane it's been an issue since launch for a lot of users. in fact I'd be willing to put in at least 20 bucks towards a bounty on a real fix.

I'm starting to detect some whine. It's not coming from my headphones.

I agree. Use Bluetooth headphones. stop whining about the whine. That's such a mundane detail it's like you're complaining for the sake of complaining

I either don't notice it or don't have it. And I'm not deaf either I have pretty adept hearing. Not trying to be an rear end to anyone, just saying.
