I just now had an issue with the phone app on the latest 3/15 official nightly. After I finished my call it returned to the phone app like usual, but it wasn't showing anything within the app.

Maybe we should have two threads? One for the official CM10.1, and one for the development/KEXEC builds? It's sort of confusing what works and what doesn't.

It appears that HC got the stock camera working with the test build, but none of the other builds have it yet. The official CM10.1 has a non-stock kernel, but doesn't have the same name as the others (3.0.8-ga077317 inky-ghost@cyanogenmod #1 Fri Mar 15 06:15:11 PDT 2013).

Yes. Agree it is a little confusing:):P But should be clear when they merge the test builds with official cm10.1. In the meantime read carefully before you flash and ask for advice. Obsidian and others are happy to help:rolleyes:

OK, so the second one is a minor update? I understand correctly. Thanks man.

The link in the OP isn't working for me. It keeps timing out. Turns out it was my work computer. Worked fine on my phone. Here I try again.

Test kernel build all works for me but speaker phone mic. I can hear them they can't hear me.

Are you using this one then?

So I downloaded the file in the OP (3/14), deleted Slot-1, created Slot-1, installed ROM, installed Gapps, and booted the phone and I'm still getting the FC of the gallery when I open the camera. If I turn off the screen it stays dark (soft keys light up) and I have to do a battery pull. I'm using the Gapps from post 559. This also happens on the one with the prefix JBMR1.

I have given up on getting this to work for now but I look forward to see what Hash can do.

Try downloading fro the link posted by HC on Twitter yesterday. I think its on the thread a few pages back. If not I can post it.

Here you go.

That was the first one that I tried and I was getting the FC on the camera and they both go to the same link, but I was using the GApps from post 559 and not the CM one because it kept timing out on me. I was able to download the correct GApps on my phone so I'm going to try it again. I'm hoping the right GApps will work.

So weird how it's picky for each of our phones. I'm on 3-14, with the #559 gapps, camera works great.

Tried again with CM GApps and camera still crashes after a few seconds. If I go back into the camera, the buttons are there and responsive, but just a black screen. Sometimes if I wait the camera will come back and work, but that happens about 50% of the time. I might play around with it more later, but have to stop now. Thanks for all the work Hash.

Hey everyone. Maybe hashcode's new tweets will shed some light on a problem I had.

The builds on AndroidHosting and the builds you get with the CM Updater are not the same thing. AndroidHosting is kexec and CM Updater is not. If you install the kexec from AndroidHosting, and you try and update it using the CM updater, you will install the non-kexec over the kexec.

He also said the CM Updater builds will be changing over to the kexec kernel soon.

Reporting on my install. I installed KEXEC build from 3/6, but then used the CM updater to go to 3/14 nightly (dirty install), which installed a non-exec build. I then flashed the new 3/14 kexec build (dirty again, no factory/system wipe) and everything IS SO f%$kING SMOOTH AND THE CAMERA WORKS AND OH GOD I AM SO f%$kING HAPPY.

Edit: MMS with the default app also works. No more $#!+ty bloated Go SMS

So 3/14 kexec is the most stable right now? I'm dying to try this but really digging LiquidSmooth in slot 1... anyhoo that's what backups are for, right?

I know we are supposed to use the CM gapps but the ones I posted in post #560 worked for me while the CM gapps didn't. Also if you are getting force closes on the gallery and camera try deleting the data from both apps reboot and wipe dalvik/cache and they should work. I had the same problem until I followed those steps and everything is perfect.
