Just curious if anyone else has seen a difference with battery life after the 3G fix. It might just be because I work in an office that has wretched reception, but it seems like after 3G was fixed, the battery dies significantly quicker. Oddly enough, it almost feels like it's charging quicker as well. Another thing about battery life/charging: Does anyone else have issues with the battery jumping from 50%ish to full while charging or the other way around?

AFAIK, 3g wasn't "fixed". They just added in an icon recently.
Yeah phone batteries are goofy. It'll drop 10% at a time from time to time. Sometimes these are consecutive. The only way to really trust your battery level is to monitor the voltage.

3G was fixed.
Look at the changelogs:
Check the changelog for 9/13:
CdmaLte: Fix 3G reported as unknown on certain devices...
results in network Unknown. In these cases return RilVoiceRadioTechnology for RilDataRadioTechnology. Set ro.telephony.ril.v3=usevoicetechfordata to enable
This phone must be explicitly told to use EVDO for data, not just voice.

Check the changelog for 9/13:
ANDROID_FRAMEWORKS_OPT_TELEPHONY 2013-09-13 03:15:57CdmaLte: Fix 3G reported as unknown on certain devices...
Some older CDMA/LTE RILs only report VoiceRadioTechnology which
results in network Unknown. In these cases return RilVoiceRadioTechnology for RilDataRadioTechnology. Set ro.telephony.ril.v3=usevoicetechfordata to enable
This phone must be explicitly told to use EVDO for data, not just voice.
Wait, does this mean that it was fixed, i.e. 3G data works properly, i.e. if not in a 4G area you don't lose data, or, does this just mean that the 3G icon now displays but there is no 3G data?

3G works now. It was accidentally not told to use it for data.
