how is the wifi tether on 10.1.3? that's the only thing keeping me from going from 10.1 because 10.1.2 broke my wifi tether

EDIT: made the leap, everything seems fine tether-wise. I'll keep checking back. 10.1.3 RC2 is just fine so far though.

Does 10.1.3 still have occasional phone/SOD?  that was annoying enough to try a Blur-based ROM for a little while, but now I'm bored...

No problems whatsoever here. I fdr'd my phone and solved the Google services battery issue I posted about before. Pretty sure this is my new daily until the 3g is fixed in the new versions, if that happens of course.

So I didn't realize how many little things I prefer about 4.3

Ha. I was on stock for a bit. Until it drive me nuts. Now on 10.1.3 and so far so good.

Even if it starts to occasionally reboot it'll be better than the two feet in concrete that stock always ends up as.

The only thing I notice is that after having the screen off all night it lags terribly when I turn it on in the morning. It does this for about 30 seconds then goes back to its normal buttery self. Just a minor nuisance, really.

I'm curious what sort of stuff? I don't think, for what I've used, I've noticed much but maybe I just haven't used it very much because of the 3g and where I live.

Games use significantly less battery.
Dialer calls when you pick a name.
You have the option to block offensive words or not in the keyboard.

I'll probably think of more. Theyre minor things that I strongly prefer

Idle battery drain is 2x better as well

Is it possible to install 10.2 through cm updater if I'm on 10.1? I know you need a different version of gapps, so I'm already leaning toward a big fat "no" as the answer. I just wanted to be sure before I installed it clean. This talk of better battery life intrigues me since I'm forced to use my standard battery in this otterbox defender case I'm stuck with. I work a physical job and haven't gotten around to "modifying" this case yet.

Don't think so. Its os 4.3 vs 4.2.2. I would say a full wipe would be in order.

I don't know about the updater but you can dirty flash it and gapps 813 right on top of 10.1 and it works great. That's how I get my SD flip flop done.

So I've only gotten bsod on 10.2 when using one power guard. Not sure if they're related or not tho. Any one else use one power guard?

I hadn't heard of One Power Guard before but tried it for today and wow I'm impressed. No bsod but I'm running 10.1 during the day mostly.

i kept getting force closes for awhile and facebook would just close without a dialog in the middle of typing a message. Sometimes the screen would stay black when I tried to turn it on but after running fix permissions in TWRP and rom manager things seem to be better. I had to enable "use external storage" under the advanced settings to play any music though, it kept reporting insufficient space. Also during at least one boot I was stuck on 3g and then no data at all on the next. Now everything seems good though I'll keep updating with any other issues I might find.

One thing I want to point out is that the native wifi tethering does not work (the one that uses TetherFallback for an SSID). When enabled, the 4g turns off, then comes back, and goes only to grey (not connected to google DNS?) and then off and back on but always grey. The wifi tether app by google does work but often overheats the phone to as high as 150F! Of course I do my best to keep it from going over 120F but y'know sunday night shows don't torrent themselves :p I've heard that the native tethering does not create as much heat but if it doesn't work at all it's a moot point. Anyone else had better luck with the native/built-in tethering?

10.1.3 RC2 hasn't force closed on me in 2 days including ingress play and multiple wifi/3G/4G connections.

Fresh slot, latest SS was flashed after the one right before that which O also flashed this release on. (Last SS was installed on stock but latest was installed on slot 1 since that was deemed okay from what I read).

Anyway, let me know of you want me to try anything. Not even sure what native wifi tethering is. Is that in the notification toggles or quick toggles? Probably both?
