Aight gents, hate to be that guy but the lack of 3g is gonna be something your going to have to get used to, from what I've herd, correct me if I'm wrong, but a lot of new phones coming out do not have 3g support at all.

Are you talking VoLTE?  That is wayyyyyyyyyyy down the road... all phones currently out or on the way have 3G support...

Don't know how relevant this is but I was having a error 43 issues playing any movies or tv shows from the play store while using tis Rom, So I got a Chromecast over the weekend (knowing people had issues with this device) and installed 8/24 & then 8/26 today. Both would fire up the Chromecast and play the movies without a hitch. Turn Chromecast off and the errors pop back up. Either way, I'm excited to be able to have Play movies work on these builds. Keep'em coming!

This is false. Nearly every new phone had quadband 2g, pentaband 3g, and at least dual band 4g.

For example, This is the list of radio bands the new droid maxx and ultra support

World Mode (LTE FDD/TDD CAT3, SVLTE-DB, TD-SCDMA, Rel9 DC-HSPA+, GSM/GPRS/EDGE, EGAL, 1× Adv., 1× EV-DO Rev. A/B)

I was thinking about VoLTE but it wasn't what I was referencing, I found the post it was about the moto x not having 3g, but the post is pretty old now and has since been disproved. On the topic of VoLTE, last time I herd, I believe via moot, it was to roll out December next year cause that's when vzw's lease for the towers runs out, once again correct me if I'm wrong

its not really a matter of getting used to not having 3g or not. 3g coverage is much more reliable than 4g at this point. by the time they phase out 3g on phones, i'm positive 4g will have the same reliability and coverage as 3g does right now, so it won't matter much by then.

As far as this ROM goes the data may send this into a tail spin (lock up / black screen). Still don't know. I do know Bionic the way I use it is good on latest nightly as of now. If I had an issue before I was reverting to 8/21. I rarely go to 3G and my black screens may be that. Otherwise not noticing a 3G issue.. Sent from my XT875 using Tapatalk 4

Here are some 8/26 screenies for ya.

How are you pulling that quadrant score? I can only get 2600 with the governor set to performance. If you're over clocking somehow please, do tell. I've been searching everywhere for a way to overclock, lol.

Its a pretty decent bump in CPU AMD memory performance. Antutu also scored about 300 points higher than usual. And battery drain isn't quite there yet.

No OC or anything just on a 5 slot bionic. I posted the screen shots cuz the scores were better than anything since the rc3 and rc4 with the unstable kernel :)

I wonder if the cyanogenmod gurus know about the 3g issue. It seems like such a monster of an issue that it seems obvious to be up for a fix. Verizon is one of the biggest carriers - if 3g is not working then essentially the 4.3 build is not really useful. Playstore is not working for me despite using latest GAPPS. "No connection" "Retry" error. This happens despite wipe of cache/dalvik and fixing permissions. Also focal is crashing when I touch the screen. Great stuff otherwise... can't wait for ctd improvements! Will try new install on newly created slot 2 and report back.

They know.

Also, its a nightly. No one is making or even asking you to use it.

Sure. But aren't we here because we enjoy trying this stuff out and optimizing and discussing things that work and don't?  Anyway if my post sounded ungrateful... I'm not.

Sounds like you have more insight into the CM project than I do. Is there an easy way to see what issues are known?

I appreciate everyone's insight on these items.

My playstore issues likely resulted from improper TIBU installations.

New install solved problems. (But 1) did have to fix permissions to use the tethr)  And 2) now "No external storage available" yikes!

3) Look fwd to 3g issue being solved also if possible.

Nakedtime - maybe you're right - I may simply not be savvy enough to use this. (although I had been doing well for months before now)

What tether are you using? I wasn't able to get WT or FF to work. Didn't try fix permissions...

I use WT and it works. Make sure in settings you have it set for generic ICS/jb

Prior to fixing permissions the box in wt was greyed out and would not let me check it.
Hope that helps

Here is Hashcode's post recognizing it's a known issue:

Flashing 10.1.3 RC1 now. Will update if worth switching or not.

Do not switch.
Strangely, 10.2 is much better

So does anyone know why it would go from 10.2 nightly to a 10.1.3 RC? That just seems strange to me.

10.2 and 10.1 are totally different. 10.1=4.2.2 and 10.2=4.3. They are still maintaining 10.1 and 10.1.3 is the latest Release Candidate for a stable version. I don't believe there is a current stable version of 10.2. Hope that helps.
