Hey all, wanted to check in to sanity check my next steps to make sure I'm planning this correctly before I start tonight. Thanks for your help!

Here's what I have now:
installed cwm razr bootstrap on my maxx
Rooted
installed abysm rom which is 748
Been running great for a few days now

Here's what I'd like to do next:
uninstall cwm
Install safestrap
enable safe mode
flash with ic3razr alpha

If I understand correctly, I will then be able to dual boot between abysm and ics by disabling and enabling safe mode.

Am I correct or must I have a stock rom on the non safe mode? Thanks again!

sounds good! that is exactly what I did when ics came out, except I have ics on 1st boot, and abysm on 2nd.
but yes you can toggle out between the two. no need for stock rom.

each time you toggle in and out of a rom, do i need to let the rom settle like i did when i flashed it? every time i toggle roms i have trouble with my data and cell connection until i give it like an hours time.

not too sure of what u mean by letting rom settle for a good connection of data. in all the roms I hvnt had data or connection problems, with the exception of this rom which when it boots I gotta go into phone settings and toggle service.
but as far as toggeling from safestrap, as long as you do a safe toggle everything should be good...

I think he means 'settle' like in right after you flash a ROM...you let it 'settle' so everything starts and loads.

thats exactly how i meant it, like if i reboot into my nonsafe system and start to use it right away, i tend to have some problems for about 30 mins. then it normals out...i havent tried rebooting into my unsafe system and letting it settle for a bit

If you get stuck in boot loop after flash, boot back into recovery and factory-reset and clear your caches and it should work.

Not yet, but that kinda makes me want to install Safestrap again (which I don't like too much anymore) just so I can flash this rom again and try it out. ><

Edit: Naaah, I'll install this again as soon as the data thing is fixed, that annoys me too much. ><

Letting it settle is not quite as important with an already installed ROM as it is with a newly flashed ROM.

thanks @andlaw - ics installed perfectly first time; going to fix market, etc. now. Any leaks on when next rev will be released?

ps - I had the gnex for 13 days and exchanged it on the 14th day for the razr maxx; samsung just didn't have the same quality feel as the moto line; after using the x for 2 years, gnex had the 'just too young' feeling of hanging out with someone barely legal.

yes the camera will get fixed in the near future. and its doubtful it would be compatible with the leak .173 as cheesecake was not an intended OTA push to our phone.

The camera code is being rewritten but takes time. I don't we will switch over to the leak as most people have 748. The next update will come as soon as I dug through all the code changes and figure out which one is causing it not to boot

Glad to hear!! definitely cant wait for the camera to get fixed, but to have what we have right now... not much to complain about!
