Yeah give him time. He has other things to do besides building ROMs for us. If I was still in Hawaii, I'd be at the beach everyday.

thanks you sir! yeah guys, give me a break lol.. it wasnt but a week ago i was "taking time out" for myself, and yet here i am still releasing updates hah. Btw, yes im on hawaiian time so that puts me -10GMT, which is 6 hours behind east coast. I do work full time + OT, so i do this stuff in my free time after work, before work, on my days off etc. .. I said yesterday, that AOKP build 5 source was made available, and that would be an automatic update! But, But... CM10 was my update for yesterday., and i do believe the Poll i started is complete, with the choice being AOKP to be the one to keep receiving updates~ They will both still be available for download, but Aokp will be the flavor to always be maintained and constantly updated. With that being said, what you guys have to look forward to tonight, well, tomorrow (10-23), as i just got home from work, and powered up my main pc. Aokp 3.0 will be released here soon~ (this is based off AOKP build 5), and since it is a new number, you will need to do a FULL wipe. I only suggest this to minimize any issues or problems that could arise. I will keep you guys posted, but more than likely, realistically we are looking at 3-4 hours before it will be ready and uploaded. Also, if you would like to be a tester, let it be known~ Shooooots

I use Swype beta. I tried moving the apk from stock over and changing permissions but it doesn't seem to want to work that way.

i will look around and see if i can find a swype compatible with JB. but, if you already know of one, simply pull the swype.apk and place it on your phone, then move it into the system/app directory of your phone with the following permissions (rw-r--r--) and you should be able to get it up and running after setting it as the default kb, in system settings, languages & input. ..

As zllibengood said...just download the swype beta. It's easy and you can have your dictionary synced up with your email account.

For anyone who wants to install stock swype (I don't like the swype beta)...

I redirected this link from another post (BTW, Thanks superrelaxx!) Download the files from the link and then follow these instructions. (these are the same instructions provided in the link.)


Restoring Swype:
Using Root Explorer (or equivalent):
1. Mount file system as R/W
2. Copy and change permissions to -rw-r--r-- \system\app\Swype.apk
3. Copy and change permissions to -rw-r--r-- \data\dalvik-cache\system@app@Swype.apk@classes.dex
4. Copy and change permissions to -rw-r--r-- \system\lib\libSwypeCore.so
5. Reboot
6. Go to Settings/Language & input and pick the settings icon to the right of Swype.
7. Select Input Method and change to Swype

I have already done it and it worked for me.

This is what I do. It can be slightly buggy on JB roms at times, but overall it works. If it ever bugs out on you, just wipe the swype app data and reset it as your default keyboard.

New features:

• Custom NavBar for Tablets
• NavBar widgets are back from ICS
• Highly customizable Lockscreen Ring targets, with a shiny new editor in ROMControl! (also thanks to CM for the base of the framework part)
• Alternate default app picker (like in GB)
• Menu UI Overflow Toggle
• Option to disable vibration for Notification expansion
• RAM Bar in the Recents panel
• Timeout and instant lock options for Slide lock
• Tons of beautiful new icons by Kwes
• VPN Traffic amount in human readable format

So other than the changelog from Aokp, BW AOKP rom has been updated and built off Build 5 source. There are still bugs (read the OP), but they did bring some nice changes to the table. This may vary from phone to phone. .. MMS issue resolved, if not.. use GO SMS or handcent and set to default; disabling the stock messaging app. GEO-location is working again, might be slow at first to select location, but should work great after that.... AOKP 8 target lockscreen hot seats available, check out ROM control, lockscreen. All Apps up-to-date, and i added in a few apps (easy voice recorder, and City State caller ID. Some minor theme work to framework-res and systemui. (same changes from the v2.2 update package). Some other stuff, but this is pretty much the changelog for 3.0 BW AOKP.

• You must do a FULL WIPE, as this is a new build. If you don't do a full wipe, and run into issues, DO NOT POST YOUR PROBLEMS until you go back and do a full wipe/re-flash. Thanks.
• Once this finishes the Testing phase, OP will be updated. I will let you know when its ready!!

I use the dark themed swype.apk from djdarkknight. He had quite a few different themed swype.apk's. but he had to take them down because Nuance C&D wanted to keep their crappy look and threatened to sue. At least that's my understanding. I downloaded a few of the apk's. At the time I downloaded them they were updated to v7. I dont know if thats the latest he released but the bug I found was when adding a contact into a new thread of handcent (my preferred texting app) and I got multiple contacts matching the name that was entered and the drop down extended past the keyboard then the keyboard would stay in front and I could not select the number if it was at the bottom of the list because the keyboard was in the way. sorry if this is too long and hard to understand. Im tired and wanted to post before bed. Im willing to share the apk but not wanting to get sued is where im getting at so if youre interested pm me and i will send you a link to my dropbox.

I didn't see the OPs latest post and installed without wiping and have yet to run into any problems, though i'll be reinstalling later tonight, cba to install all my apps again since i have class soon.
