Sad to see another great dev beaten down by the entitlement plague that is destroying this forum. Hate to see you go, but wish you all the best. Thanks for all the great work.

I don't think he said antything about entitlement. He's just tired of people not reading his ops and threads and tired if repeating the same answer over and over to people who are too lazy to read.

There has been a lot of talk of devs leaving today in the forums. There have also been a lot of dev's who have left. There are some individuals in here that seem to come across as if they are owed something because they use a dev's rom. If you use something, without gratitude, and expect the dev to be at their beck and call is that not entitlement?

I read a little further back that he was just as upset about the lack of good comments from people who don't post much, if at all.

I think I might be in that category. I kind of thought, maybe incorrectly, that we shouldn't post all the time if nothing is wrong. I post rarely in any thread. I kind of assumed if I can fix things myself, then the devs have one less idiot to deal with lol. If you read the OPs and subsequent posts, it's really rare that a person actually NEEDS to post something.

I find everything I need simply by reading, so it never really occurred to me that any dev might want us to waste their time with things they don't need to read.

To ANY developer reading this, I think I can state with assurance that there are many of us who REALLY do appreciate what you do. If accolades are what is needed here, then I for one, gladly give credit where credit is due.

I understand you're relatively new here so I'm gonna do my best to clarify why certain Devs have left here and why you're misunderstanding what's happening.

The Devs that were here that chose to leave didn't do so because of ungrateful users. They did so because they felt that their wrk on open source software was being "stolen", if there is such a thing. The software we all modify and enjoy was a gift from google and EVERYONE in the spirit of Googles original intent should be more than happy to share development with another dev. People should feel flattered that another dev wants to use parts of their development. It's a sign of respect.

So I'm if you misunderstood why certain Devs have left. It's because those people had a diva attitude that the work and contributions to their ROMs we closed source and that its all theirs, theirs, theirs. That's not at all what android is about nor the principals it was based on. The Devs that left are no better than Apple.

I understand if u put ur hard time into a build/theme/mod, etc that u entitled to your credit. But that's where it ends. To think that because you modified an open source operating system that you now own the entire thing is ludicrous.

I hope you understand now.

First of all, I have been a member here longer than you. I don't post much here, other than to help the occasional person because like in most instances in life it is very easy to read things into comments people make in text that are not there. Take for instance your post, I could very easily interpret your post as disrespectful, like you are talking down to me. I am going to assume that this is not your intention. ya your absolutely right. As devs we dont care about appreciation or a thanks.. all we like hearing are requests and complaints about already known bugs. but yah, thanks for all the bug reports. i mean the same mms bug that got me like 5 comments telling me so. again, Thanks!

Dang ... seems like I got on board this at the wrong time. I installed this rom just today and am quite happy with it. Thanks for all the hard work ... sorry to hear you won't be updating it anymore, but entitlement complexes suck too, so I can understand your reasons.

k lets get one thing straight here. I am not leaving due to the fact i feel a lack of "entitlement", if you read my first comment, i said.. and will say again. When i started developing BW, i wasnt working near the hours i work now. With my work schedule, i dont have a whole lot of time to pour into development... but i have been making time after work at nights, a few hours here and there to still put out BW ROMS on JB source. Everyone who is a "crackflasher" should know Jellybean is still in alpha, very early stages of development..... there are bugs and issues on EVERY single build, and i even have this stuff listed in the OP, all ya gotta do is read it. instead, i get asked the same question, and keep getting the same comment over and over. I just dont have the time between work, this, and just life in general, to deal with repeated questions over and over. not to mention, i state in the OP a few things i would like given if your reporting a bug/issue but people cant even do that, so then i have to send another message asking which rom (since there is 2 in this thread).. its just very time consuming, and then on top of it... Why would you think as devs, we dont want to hear any feedback unless its a problem we need to fix. Your crazy, we enjoy seeing positive feedback just as much as the bugs that are in the ROM so we can fix those as well to ensure a positive experience while running our roms. But you need to realize. yes i already know bluetooth doesnt work fully, and if you leave it on not connected you will lose all audio..... this is in the OP. or someone asking do i need to wipe inbetween updates,, and all/most of these questions can be answered by reading the OP, or scimming through the thread and more than likely the same question has been asked and answered a few times.

You have misunderstood my meaning of entitlement completely. My point was that, from what I have read, some people seem to feel like they are entitled to something from you, not that you are entitled to something because you dev this rom. I was trying to say that the lack of appreciation for what you do gets lost in people expecting things from you. My apologies that this was taken the wrong way

Damn dude, I just popped in to check what's up, and I read this...well, I gotta say, I love the rom, and I'm definitely sorry to see you go. I know I speak for many more than you realize when I say how much I appreciate your work here...honestly, I was all set to just stick with BW only...but if you're discontinuing the rom...I might think about changing phones honestly, because yours is the only rom I'm really happy with...
Oh well, again, thanks for the awesomeness you gave us, and I am sorry to see you go, but we all understand how busy life gets, and also, this was hours of work put in for free...what I mean to say is, you gotta do what you gotta do, lol

This should not be spilling out into the threads. For one members do not know the whole story. I van tell everyone one thing. I have never seen a DEV leave on bad terms. This is a ongoing issue of AOSP and peoples opinions . This should not be posted in development. If Adlaw decides to leave that is fine, I wish him the best! We appreciate everything that he has done. If his choice is final this ROM will still be available threw DR , why you ask? Or how? Well for 1 this is AOSP and 2 DR has all rights to any work posted on its forums. So yes it will be picked up by @emaricanX and myself to bring you all the choices you have had .

Agreed...mostly. I mean, without Andlaw BW isn't really BW...and without his consent to carry on his work, I would disagree with anyone carrying it on, although ultimately that is not my call...

wow, well that is just messed up. Open sourced or not, how could some1 think they can just walk in and take over somebody's project.. because they no longer have the time/desire to keep up with it. I never said i was packing up my roms, and leaving the site.. i simply said i wont be updating for a while until the source becomes more complete "less bugs", and then you make that comment like its fine if im not here or not, as you will take over..... This has all been done through my eyes and the way i want the ROM to look/run etc... that kinda hurt you making that comment Dave. Thanks!

Well... I dont know what happened. I love this Rom. Andlaw... you rock. I havent had a dev be so involved with their ROM on any device I have had. I will wait for your next release. Since this one is the most stable I have had on any device that I have had.

Your work is awesome. I only posted a couple days ago because I had a question. I would really not like this rom to disappear because... its just awesome. The best non release ROM on any device. This is coming from someone who use the DX and DX2. I've been through permanent alphas and testing numerous betas nothing comes close to this as far as stability.

Its sad that people couldnt read the damn original post or other posts or trying to figure out things on their own. Thats how a lot of things like the MMS issue got solved. Its the damn people who post and dont bother reading or using the search button or Googling that really bring people down.

If you have a prob, its probably been addressed. If you think it hasnt, its a user error. You did something wrong. Or your device is messed up. Which is easy to do. Trust me I have done that before.

I would hate to have this ROM disappear because of the people who cant read or dont have the patience to try to figure out things on their own.

I had that MMS problem and the first thing I did was check the preferences and it went away.

People just need to try to figure crap out on their own. Thats part of ROMing a device. I learned that early on with the DX. If it is broke or something isnt happening the way it should, its a user error and requires personal trouble shooting or trying to read.

Andlaw, thanks. Thanks for your work. You put out a really good ROM that has no equal.
