well just installing hand cent and setting as default worked wonders for me. I can send and receive MMS now.sorry to sound redundant but my mms isnt working as well, what exactly do you need to do in safestrap? i rebooted, clicked on fix permissions in the advanced tab and then just went back, and did a system reboot and mms still isnt working. aokp jb v1.3.
am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

Late arrival to the discussion, but after using Eclipse ICS for a while, I'm going to give this one a try to see if I like JB-based stuff better. I'm also planning to check out KOA Resurrection just to see which I prefer.
Would I be incorrect in assuming that I can go backward to ICS if I find that I don't like the JB roms? Sorry if that's a n00b-ish question. I've rooted and modded my fair share of devices, but I'm no developer.

Bw is great for a themed look. Koa is an awesome choice if you'd like a stock-looking ROM.
You can go back to ICS ROMs any time. These aren't leak based builds.

Annnd: n00b question #2: SafeStrap 2.11 won't install on my phone. When I open the .apk, it asks if I want to install it but won't let me press "install." Only "cancel" is active. Advice?
I've already got SafeStrap 2.0 on it.
Go into busybox and superuser. Make sure binaries and versions are updated. You have to uninstall 2.0 recovery, then you can install the new one for 2.11.

Cool, um ... how do I uninstall 2.0? It doesn't show up in my apps list or in Titanium backup apps list. Do I need to switch back to unsafe system?

Does handcent allow mms to work when using mms.apk that came with 1.3v or do you mean mms using handcent app?well just installing hand cent and setting as default worked wonders for me. I can send and receive MMS now.
What I did when fixing permissions was sent the pic with 1.3v messinging, when it sticks on "sending" -> reboot into safestrap-> fix permissions-> reboot-> when 4G connects pic sends. . . I tried after that to send more pics, no dice. . . That was just something I was fooled thinking it was fixed but I guess not :/, lol

This has been covered extensively. If you DL a third party app like gosms or hands cent, MMS will work. On any build. On any jb ROM.Does handcent allow mms to work when using mms.apk that came with 1.3v or do you mean mms using handcent app?

Yes, you must be on unsafe side. You dont need to uninstall 2.0 app, you can just install over it.

Every other JB ROM I've installed has not had that requirement.
Thanks!

Thanks. I'll post my review of this rom once I get my phone fully charged and ready to rumble. (Don't worry, I won't actually post a review. Maybe.)

Explain to me please, so I understand, why I must be on a MotoICS Leak?

JB won't run on a kernel that isn't ICS.

I was on 4.0.4 on a fresh format. Installed KOA after rooting and Safestrap. No problems as of yet.

You have to disable stock messaging and enable handcent to be the default message app. Post with details a few posts back....

I knew a third party app works..I have smspro as default SMS fight now...I've tried smspro and the Verizon message app at least know they work. Was just asking if maybe if something got the JB all that is in the ROM to send and receive pics.

Hi everyone, I just got this phone as a replacement from Verizon a cpl of days ago and it is my first ever moto phone. I already have it rooted but before I try out this rom I was wondering how can tell if I am on the right software version with the correct kernal. I am on android version 4.04 and the kernal version says 3.08. I'm just a little confused because the op says that kernals .211, .214, and .215 are supported. Sorry for the noob question but maybe someone can clarify this for me?
No worries! .211 is most likely the software version you're on right now. Which is completely fine to install this ROM over. .214 and .215 are leaked software builds that were not released by Verizon.
If you are on completely stock ICS from the store, you're good to go. Just follow the rest of the steps in the OP and don't even worry about the other software versions. Hope that helped

Thanks so much for the quick response! Yeah I'm completely stock ICS so I guess I'm good to go
