I just did the same thing. I always hated this nightfall to begin with, now I hate it even more.

The theory is for the Knights you can switch to an arc sniper to break the shield but it's taking 3 hits to break the shield then they just use their fire shield to restore their health and restore their shield.  WTF?  Seriously??  I don't think it can be done solo.  I need someone to kill the Knights after I drop their shield.  I'm not amused.

That's the exact thing that I noticed too. I couldn't aim, fire, switch, reload, and maneuver fast enough. Then ya have the damn witches firing their crap at ya like they have a mini gun. I just gave up.

Unless you have something I don't, it may not be that easy. The knights shields come down with arch damage. I have a fully upgraded Patience and Time, it still took 3-4 shots to drop the shields. By the time I swapped weapons, they had their fire shield up and started to regen their arch shield. Void damage don't mean jack when their shields are immune to it. Its going to be a 2 person job for sure. At least for me it will be.

Yup.  Exactly.  Maybe an arc rocket launcher or machine gun could do it but I don't have either.  Just got a fire sniper though, thus completing my sniper arsenal.  Will level that bad boy up when I get a chance.

I have a Swarm and a couple rocket launchers. I'll grab some ammo synthesis and give that a try today on lunch.

I did the weekly (not nightfall) solo on lunch and even that was a PITA on lvl 28.

I may try that once I hit my goal of getting crucible lvl 3.  I'm just shy of 500 points away at this point.  Been grinding it all day.

Weekly and nightfall are done.  Managed to solo weekly.  Nightfall took my son and I as I just didn't have strong enough weapons to kill all the knights.  Once I was past that it wasn't a problem.  Had to do nightfall twice cause I ran out of ammo one shot before pho was dead and my son, who managed to go get himself perished, had the brilliant suggestion to just jump up and toss a grenade at him to finish him off.  I stepped out so I could get a clear shot, was one hit killed, resurrected, and one hit killed again...orbit.  Yeaaaaaa.

After thinking about it, I'm not too disappointed about not being able to do the nightfall. With thanksgiving weekend coming, I won't really be playing anyway.

I celebrated like I just won the loto lol. I had no primary ammo or heavy at the end. I used ice breaker to build special ammo but used Epitaph with Void damage to kill the boss. IB was doing 1050 damage, with the Void Epitaph I was doing 2500. Made a hell of a difference.
