You will need to be already updated to 173. A rom flash can't update radio.Would the abysm update take us straight to .173 or will we have to flash back to stock .748 ---> stock .173 or stock .173 ---> Abysm .173? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question....

Yeah, I also have a deep hatred for bloat. Since the release of the fastboot files and with the sweet rear end utilities Matt has been rolling out I never use safestrap and very much prefer bootstrap.Ok cool... I think I may do the .173 nonsafe and abysm safe too... I can't stand the bloatware. It kills my battery and I don't even use any of it.

True. I've been waiting for confirmation that Abysm will run fine on .173 before taking the update and just getting rid of ss all together and using bootstrap instead since I don't find myself jumping between safe and non safe at all. Just to make sure I'll be doing it right. I should just wipe everything on safe side (data, cache, dalvik) boot back to non safe where I still have stock full bloat. Remove ss and take the update right? Or did I just describe a recipe for disaster?

Sounds like you've got it. Just make sure when you boot back to your stock rom you open safestrap and uninstall the recovery, then uninstall the app, then delete any traces from your SD card. You should be fine to take the 173 update at that point as long as all your stick system files and bloat are in place.True. I rely too much on my bluetooth(broken on 173 with 748 base rom). Otherwise that would definitely be what I'd have done. In the meantime the tweaks DT put out for stock 173 are making me happier than a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle getting his pizza delivery.Just flash this rom over 173, then when he updates this wipe and flash the update
