So the download was complete, I postponed the install, I looked in /cache and found a file that has a name with the .748 in it not the .173 yet the download page said it was .173 and the date/time was correct. I am already on .748 (re-verified). Deleted the flies that got created and I re-downloaded the update. (on a note-I did look at the files I copied when it updated from .744 to .748 and they where .744 so they should be correct.)
Copied the files out of /cache and they are now on my computer and in the process of being uploaded to a share site. Link:http://min.us/mbaEui55Hr

Verified the files and that we can keep root by, using Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper to backup root and temp un-root, then complete the update, then re-root with Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper.

Works like a champ...

Just so you know btw, the OTA will show YOUR current version even though it is the update. There is a thread on the naming convention of updates.

Moved on to the LG G2 on VZW and lovin it!

You could also take the OTA, then plug it in to your PC... provided you have ADB setup and open Terminal.

adb pull /system.

That will grab the entire system folder.

Switching to my other computer to do this also...

Edit*** Forgot I rebuilt that computer so I'm re-installing ADB. Be a bit but I'll get his going soon.

Sweet. I've been wanting to run the .173 update. And thank you so much DT for going ahead and updating it to run with .173.

I've had no issues with .748 but the more stable my data connections are, the better. w00t w00t!

RARed the files into one file. Not an install-able file, just a dump of /system after applying the update

Waiting for updates makes heroin addiction look like a vague wish for something salty…..

So while I was waiting and since I needed a fix, I restored my phone to stock 11.748
Installed the OTA 12.173
And now I’m hitting the refresh button like an addict waiting for DT’s great running ROM update.

I should probably do that too but I hate losing all my text messages and no apps can back them up correctly. It always gets the timestamp wrong..

True! As soon as DT has Abysm up and running on .173 I'll take the OTA. There's no way I can ever go back to a stock ROM ever again after discovering the joys of rooting and flashing. LOL!!

Hey, im a little confused? This rom doesnt work on 173?

I was running on 748 but my radios were acting really weird. Maybe the 4 bars threw me off but i wasnt getting a strong signal so I said what the heck let me go to 173 cuz I was on that when I was stock and data was smooth. This is the first time I rooted because I got really annoyed with the stock rom so I wanted to flash something but nothing caught my eye but this ROM. This ROM is wonderful but because of my signals I decided to fastboot back to 748, reroot, VooDoo, then go to 173, then flashed this ROM again. My LTE seems steady now much better than before when I was on 748.

The only thing is, my system is 6.11.748.XT912.Verizon.en.US(which is .173) but my firmware is 2.3.5?

I thought .173 is 2.3.6?

this ROM is .748. The update we are discussing will be added once DT gets back home and has time to do the work.

Also can't wait for some fresh 173 butter! But don't go too crazy on the refresh button fellow flashers as I think I read DT is out of town and vacation for the week. I think when he said he would update when he gets home he was referring to back from vacation. I'm sure our patience will be much appreciated and definitely worth it ;)

He means tweaking things here and there. Observing battery behavior. Tweaking. Observing battery behavior. In other words it took at lot of time and patience.

No0b question here : What new features does 173 bring over 748? Is it just a new modem? (sorry, former captivate user).

I am getting a Maxx tomorrow and I wanted to verify that all that is flash able with Razr is flash able with Maxx. I'm sure that there is info in here somewhere, but I really don't feel like reading 1000 posts. Thank you for any info

For those still having lockscreen/home button issues.

This is definitely an app backup issue. Go to your files app, delete all app backups, internal and sd card.

Reboot into recover, data wipe/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe delvik, format /system, flash original rom, then boot up....sign into google upon bootup. don't let any apps download (if some do it's okay), then reboot into recovery. wipe cache and delvik, flash 1.1 update. power up your phone and you should be good to go.

I originally had this running 100% and then I installed the ICS rom, went to flash back to this and got the lockscreen/home issue, then found a post back on page 30 or so and deleted all my app backups. And it worked.
