Not a problem for this thread.  Start a new thread for that.  It's not related to this FXZ.

Since you're unlocked, all you have to do is install an aftermarket recovery. TWRP gives you an option to root right in the recovery and then you'll have to install SuperSU from the Play store, or you can install a recovery and Flash SuperSU in recovery.

i tried it and it wont open it shows root is requiered for this app

if your unlocked, you need to flash a recovery like TWRP or CWM. Most of us here use TWRP. Then after you flash the new recovery, you boot into the new recovery and from within it you can flash root using the latest SuperSU.zip file which is 2.40

Flash the recovery in fastboot, don't use the app. The app won't work anyway, since TWRP for this phone is not official.

Just ran through the process. RSD the update, flashed TWRP, reboot into TWRP and let it root phone...

Running newest (and last) OTA update for xt926 now with root.

Thanks again Sam and everyone else who has helped keep this phone alive!

Im having a super hard time getting my phone to work with adb.. How did you flashed TWRP?

Thanks in advance.

Make sure your phone is in fastboot mode.

You use fastboot, not adb, to flash the recovery image.

Ex: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img.

Just make sure the image is in the same directory.
Whatever image you use just make sure to use the correct name or rename your recovery to recovery.img

Flashing a recovery is covered elsewhere on this site
Search for it and you can even find it on YouTube. This site is for flashing the fxz only.

Sooo.... Is there absolutely no way to root/install custom rom on 183.46.15?

I'm already on this update without being rooted and its making me sick...

I seriously don't even know what to say about 15 people who are locked looking for root at this point. I spent all the time I was going to so that people didn't end up in this situation. Some didn't want to believe it could happen cause "root is always released". :rolleyes Lesson finally learned I hope...

Unfortunately I got this phone after the previous user had already accepted the update.  Maybe it's possible to do something with SafeStrap?
