Hey guys & gals.

Just bought a razr off the interwebs and want to make sure that this thing is starting from step 1. I see there may have been some root in the past because superuser from clockworkmod is installed but doesn't actually have root and the internal storage is only like 3gbs of free space (not sure if that's normal when i have 0 apps doanloaded).

My questions is, is there a method to complete erase everything that was on this phone (safestrap, hidden messed up files, previous firmware, etc) and start from square one to root and throw a rom on it?

It's running Build 9.8.20-72

Thanks

The best way is to flash what is called a full fxz for your device. Then you can root with Motosaferoot and install safe strap once again. Then rom of choice.

Both of those methods appear to require root/safestrap. I am unable to root because the phone already has superuser app installed (as a system file so i can't remove it without root) yet it doesn't recognize that the device is rooted... = (

Was looking around, will Matt's utility (flash JB firmware) reset the phone to "like new" condition?
