I noticed this issue in the twrp for the dev unit as well...I don't think it's a SafeStrap specific issue...but then again, I am not a developer, lol

And here I was thinking I may have dipped into one to many of your special brownies. Lol

I think your onto something though. SS shouldn't be doing it but twrp would.

Make sure to set the time zone in the advanced -> settings.

I'm pretty certain the paid apps issue is a by-product of the backup/restore process some how. I'm going to look at the VisciousROM and setup a stock-based JB MotoBlur ROM to match.

Did that tried a few zones just see if it come close no luck. Setting the zone and restarting recovery didn't help any either.

It works as is and really shouldn't be an issue unless some app was to do some kind of date time stamp checking.

Right now it's like one of those things you know isn't correct and the back of your mind looks at it.

Well I can confirm... I created a 3rd slot, restored backup, wiped data, went through new setup, tried to install paid app and got sdcard error :(

Edit: Trying something here...

I tested this out for him on 2 seperate 3GB rom slots and both installed 3rd party apps just fine, even after a full data wipe.. One was that vitreous rom and one was a stock backup I restored on the second slot. I just tried on a fresh new 3rd rom slot and restored stock backup to it and Paid Apps fail :(

So if we are on a rom slot with the paid apps not working....what do we do to get them going? Would doing a backup, wiping and restoring with the new version of SS work? Or do I need to go bakcand create a new rom slot?

Also, after we restore from a wipe, do we need to flash the JB fix or are we good from the restore? Thanks...very new to SS

I think my original "fix-stock-romslot" zip is screwing us now.

Can someone who has a paid app problem, delete: /system/etc/rootfs, then reboot and try to install paid apps again?

We can stop using the .zip now either way. :)

That did the trick for me. That might also explain partly why I didn't initially have an issue with my first restored backup as I didn't flash the JB fix zip.

I know the thread has been concentrating on the paid apps issue - and rightfully so - but has anyone ever experienced the issue i posted on page 5? Basically, when trying to load a ROM, I am stuck in a bootloop that will never get me past the SafeStrap splash screen. Shows ROM activated, I hit continue/wait 10 seconds, screen goes black and the splash screen shows again. Can't get around it. I've tried on .08 and .16. Any help would be awesome :) Thanks in advance!!

Yeah - this is my first go round with using SafeStrap as ROMming on my other devices didn't require this so I am unsure if the root cause is the ROM I'm trying to load or a SS issue. Not sure if this matters, but I have the ROM stored on the external card and am installing from there. It shows the install as successful but maybe there's an issue loading from externals as opposed to the internal? Just throwing anything out there.
