I am in search of the official smart actions app from Motorola. Now I know I have a Motorola Droid RaZr and you may say," Doesn't that come installed on your phone stock?" The problem is that on a custom rom this app is absent. After using smart actions for so long it is hard to find a decent replacement. All the other so called smart apps that can control the same actions I need to control are completely user un-friendly. I need the simplicity back in my phone and life that was smart actions!

So. Does anyone know of a port? I see that Motorola has it for download on the Play store, but there is no way to download from my phone and I cannot push it as it refuses to install if I do. XDA and other sites have topics around this issue, but most have gone cold and others have veered onto other similar apps such as Llama, Automateit, or Tasker. These apps are not what I want. Please try to keep this topic on topic. I only want Smart Actions, not a replacement or substitute.

Getting force close when trying to create a new rule. Any suggestions? Im close at least. The app does launch and i can start rules and edit options within the rule, but as soon as i try and save the rule it force closes.

EDIT: i am on Licorice CM10 v. 1.4

I was having trouble like that also, I had to install the program from the system\app, then do a reboot. That should fix it right up for you.

Where you on a custom rom? The rom i am running is a cm10 jellybean based rom.

EDIT: Still getting force closing even after a fresh install into /system/app then a reboot.
I have also tried a cache and dalvik cache wipe to no avail...

Has anyone succesfully installed this on a non-Moto based Rom? I am not entirely sure it's possible.

Im gonna try the updater file he provided. I assume you flash the .zip for this to work?

It seems there is some permission or perhaps a system file or framework that is missing. It seems like i read in one of the threads on XDA that there is some file associated in motoblur that allows the Smart Actions app to access the other system files. Could someone Clarify?

EDIT: Who would the best developer be to contact on this matter?

I liked how it turned off my ringer every day at work, and i could turn off my radio after 1am to save battery, if i forgot to plug it in.

Anything else that could replace this?

I got mine to run, and edit the profiles, but it wouldnt do anything... i set it all day to be on vibrate and it did nothing.

From what I've gathered it will only work on stock based roms like simplex, arctic hd and flick... correct me if im wrong tho.... tasker app will do stuff like that...

Effectively, yes. With Llama and Tasker being available it would be kind of silly to take the time to work around all of the dependencies to make it work with a non-blur ROM.

hmmm... I just searched it (smart actions) in the google play store. it's an official app by motorola. using it on my eclipse rom for razr, which had it removed. It works no problem. Been using it for weeks. No forecloses.

when deboating i deleted social location and it broke smart actions for meand according to the safe to debloat list for stock moto as well. maybe that needs to be installed as well.
