I have an XT926 running stock 4.4.2, rooted and Unlocked, and I am wondering if since my bootloader is unlocked, I can Fastboot using RSD back to Android 4.0.4 (Blur_Version.0.6.25.XT926.Verizon.en.US).  I think it should work, but I figure I should ask first.

Now some of you are probably thinking, why I would want to do that, and to put it simply, Bluetooth functionality.  With every OTA they have had with this phone, we seem to loose simple basic features, and now after taking the 4.4.2 update, it is obvious that they only want to create new problems and have no intentions to fix anything.  I actually do not mind JB, but even with JB, I lost text over Bluetooth in my car, where it would no longer display my text on the screen, and allow me to send messages back using my Uconnect 8.4 in my Dodge Charger.  I was able to work around that by using A2DP volume app, and it would at least read my messages out loud through my car, but I even Lost that ability with KK.  At this I know that everything worked great in 4.0.4.  I would go to a custom ROM, but I have not seen a single ROM that does not stat there are Bluetooth bugs.  I just want my phone to work and as far as I am concerned, KK broke my phone.

Bring unlocked .... Yes you can..... Use Sam's HoM or RSD flasher ..... Remember to use the "universal" script or XML as you CANNOT downgrade the Tz partition or the gpt_main

Also..... If you do it..... Disable the updater first thing ..... If you try to take the ota(s) that show up after downgrading.... You will end up permabricked......

Never heard of the Tz partition or the gpt_main so I will need to look into that.  I figured I could just use the file from

If you attempt a full flash of the firmware.... You will end up stuck in fastboot with a security downgraded error...... And then be required to flash KK back on.... Then start over flashing the older firmware

As John said, use the UNIVERSAL option in whichever tool you decide to use.

Thanks for the help.  I have it now flashed back to 4.0.4.  Everything worked fine, but I found that you can’t restore Text Messages and call logs to 4.0.4, from a 4.4.2 Nandroid backup.  Luckily I was paranoid and decided to also make a backup Using super Backup.  I’ve only had it up and running for about a day now.  Way faster than KitKat, far less battery drain, it’s no longer running hot, better 4G signal, and I can finally stream to my Bluetooth devices without it cutting out.  The phone just works the way it was meant to.  It seems odd now when I grab it off my desk and it feels cold.  It always felt warm, and when looking at the battery usage, the android system was always at the top, followed by the screen.  Looking at it now, the OS is now 5th down the line and the screen is by far the most usage, which seems more correct.  Much happier!!!
