Yeah, I followed the directions you posted for another utility, and it ran, but I got the error boot loop. I swear I was using the updated script (although stranger things have happened) lol. Either that or I botched the directory somewhere. Once I got that though, I couldn't use the windows utility on my buddies pc. Wouldn't recognize fastboot. So I just had to edit the XML file and SBF via RSD Lite. Wasn't too bad although it took me a minute to get th XML edited right. (Rookie mistake). But all good now, thanks for your help with everything guys. Maybe I'll figure it out so I can fix my dumb*** mistakes at home now :)

Try chmod +x LinuxMacDroidRazrHD.sh in terminal then./LinuxMacDroidRazrHD.sh see if that works for you.... btw use caution with this utility (read previous posts).....

I'm completely hosed now, running the utility on mac I got

sending 'system' (262144 KB)... OKAY [ 20.492s]
writing 'system'... INFOProtocol error (multiflash unexpected)

FAILED (remote failure)

now it won't boot, just keeps going back to fastboot with

No valid PIV block in SP for system

If it try to restore stock from RSD lite on a windows box, it fails and the windows version of utility always stalls at

sending 'boot' (10240 KB)... OKAY [ 0.794s]
writing 'boot'... OKAY [ 4.180s]

HELP please!

The problem seem to be with outdated fastboot files (as stated earlier posts) are you 32bit or 64bit

The windows machine is 32-bit xp, the mac is 64-bit OSX 10.8.2

I've downloaded all the latest updates in subsequent posts including the revised script.

Ok... im working with the updated fastboot files.... i am going to try to have the utility and the script updated and uploaded by this evening..... troubleshooting this utility is proving to be a little difficult for me since i still don't have my HD yet.....and of course my emulator is absolutely not cooperating with me.....

Just to make sure we're on the same page, I downloaded the fastboot.exe and AdbWinApi.dll from here

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

and dropped them in the HD directory for the command line and I get the failure

Yeah, sorry, this discussion should prob be in that thread. I was just pointing out in my original post that I had tried without success on both platforms

Its fine as far as that.... the linux/mac thread(s) usually end up having discussion on all platforms :) in the long run it ends up helping everyone out....

FWIW, I figured out the problem. On windows, I had to actually change the command to use fastboot.exe instead of moto-fastboot.exe Changed and now it's back up and running!

Very good.... :) i forgot to add that in my earlier post.... :) very glad you got it.... i hate thinking that someone is running around with a half programmed phone.....

Edit.... insteading of changing all the moto-fastboot commands in the .bat file one could change the filename to moto-fastboot.... it would take WAY less time :) just a suggestion...

hey i am still having a hard time extracting the utility with my mac. im coming from a droid 2 and i remember the only thing that worked well with the mac regarding sbfing (which is not fastboot and is different in someway i dont understand) was a file or script rather that you put on a disk and put into your mac and then powered it up in a that it didnt boot up the OSX just ran the files and commands off the disc. I dont know if something like that is in the works but in the mean time im having a hard time using this utility, i appreciate your hardwork hillbilly it has always been a little more difficult to get these things done with a mac.

Glad you got it figured out jedi.....dont forget to get the updated script and the updated fastboot files...... hopefully we have worked out all the bugs.... please use caution,as mentioned above, and try to have a second fastboot method available to use (in case this one fails....again)
