I cant seem to figure out how to get this thing into recovery to tell it to use the update on the External SD. ..
What the heck am I doing wrong.. Ive done the Root saver deal as well
I Guess Ive been spoiled with my Galaxy Nexus, that thing is so easy to root and it spoiled me.
But this Razr HD Maxx is AWESOME. I must have JB though. Its so smooth.. gotta have it.

Haha it's because Motorola seems to change the method of getting into recovery with each new phone or every few at least...
Anyway, here you go:
Power down
Power up while holding volume down & up
you will get to the fastboot menu (or whatever it's called)
Volume down to get to Recovery
Volume up to Select
Then you'll get to a Android guy with an exclamation triangle
Then press volume down & up simultaneously...
Then you'll be in recovery

Sooo, it is just my MAXX HD, or does one need to be pretty damn quick in the "fast boot" menu--phone seems to want to continue into normal boot after a couple seconds. I'm not new at this--had six rooted Android phones going back to the original DInc, and most recently GNex and Nexus7, just never had a device that wouldn't stay put at the initial recovery / fast boot menu. Don't recall this with my DX.

OK So now that I have JB Installed.. How do i get Root Back? Ive hit the Restore Root Button on the Voodoo OTA app. But I dunno... nothing is happening. Says SU restored. But nothing else.
Reboot. Then try to run something which requires root privileges... I grabbed root checker just to make sure

Am I stuck with no root now.. I rebooted.. and still no root.. Man I thought I was doing good by backing up root with Voodoo.

Never fear, worse come to worse, you gotta go back to ICS and do it again...but there may be a method of recovering root
