hmm...I wonder....I use Handcent, which controls the LED blinker for MMS/SMS...I wonder if that might make a difference, like forcing it to work on the SMS/MMS may have caused it to "awaken" in the system? maybe a stupid thought, but LightFlow making it work for you has brought that idea to my mind...

1) Select Com.android.providers.settings
2) Settings DB
3) Settings
4) Line 84 edit to 1=true 2=false
Now save and reboot.

This dawned on me this morning when talking to @nattybee . For ppl that made a SU backup try doing this»»
in terminal emulator. Thanks to @Natty bee for finding the thread for me.
Chris2u also has an updated script to keep root when upgrading from ICS to JB. I have tested it and it works; however, this wont work if you have already upgraded.

I am now wondering the same thing, I seriously cant remember if my notifications were not working before hand, I don't think that they were. Now even when I turn off the LightFlow monitor the notifications still work now.

yeah, Handcent is one of the first apps I install on every device/rom I use, so I couldn't say if LED was working prior to installation or not

Sure is nice to see @NattyBee active again. He's almost giddy like a school girl with this phone.

OK if you want your notification lights on or off you can do it by using SQLite editor or something equal.
1) Select Com.android.providers.settings
2) Settings DB
3) Settings
4) Line 84 edit to 1=true 2=false
Now save and reboot.
I have found this in data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db, Once I go into com.android.providers.settings I have a databases and lib folders. I then choose the databases folder then go into settings.db, open with SQLite Databse Viewer then I see a list. Am I going to the wrong place? I am using root explorer to find the file.

You have to use SQlite

When I use SQllite Editor I still do not see the Settings after selecting com.android.providers.settings then settings.db, I have android_metadata, bluetotth_devices, bookmarks, secure, sqlite_sequence, and system, but no settings.

I'd be very surprised if that is the case. I know 2 ppl on the Razr M how had JB on it with no root and used the current root exploit while on JB without issue. However the HD did get that small security patch already so maybe that is what closed the hole. Not sure seeing as the M did not get that update I don't believe.
It'd not surprise me if they closed the exploit. Time will tell though. At least there's a work around to allow you guys to keep root. What sucks is not being able to determine if they up the security. I can imagine a situation where you install a new leak, root doesn't restore correctly, and then no fastbooting back. THAT would really blow. I guess what I'm saying is be cautious of the unknown.

chmod 6755 /system/bin/su
then exit out of terminal and reboot your device. This should work. If anyone does not have root after making a backup using ota rootkeeper and is still having problems please PM me i have a few things ppl can try to maby restore root without having to start all over.

The updated root exploit does save a few steps (updating superuser and binaries before OTA Rootkeeper backup, temp unroot). Let me know if anyone would like the updated exploit posted with new instructions to save those steps. Thanks houch80 for testing the update!
Did you post this somewhere?
Thanks, Jamie
