Going to try my Best to keep up with the Joneses. Getting kinda tough after 5.0.x released. This should well surpass any installation needs.

thanks so much nobe for the updated recovery!... saw this when doing my first back up on 2.8.3.0 , is the line in red anything to worry about? back up finished without problem, havent tried a restore yet.

Nothing to worry about with that warning.. Backup and Restore works just fine..

I have no issues formating the data partition from f2fs and ext4. Saw your post earilier and tried it on 2.8.3.0 and works awesome.

Still no joy on 2.8.3 , don't know what I'm doing or not doing. But it still says ext4. It says success also.

You may need to bite the bullet and nuke and repave the internal storage may need to be wiped.

I checked your past posts and it looks like you have tried a lot of lollipop Roms.
Which ROM are you currently on and did you do a complete wipe and fresh install.
Also, which bootloader are you running?

kkbl, does the same on cm, cm/cwg, liquid, and blisspop. it didnt work on 2.8.1, 2.8.2, or 2.8.3. all a yall say its working for ya so i think moren likely Nobe is right. need to backup and nuke. question is , when i restore will it automagically restore my data to f2fs?... oh , i always do full wipes on officials, and majors. i only dirty flash on nightlies, and never more than 3 in a row, well max maybe 4 , LOL , if i see a pretty big change in changelog or git , i might wipe dalvik,cache and system. so has anyone restored data from pc backup after formating internal data to f2fs and had the restored data wind up as f2fs.???

Sounds like you need to do a full wipe and start over.
You will most likely have to reformat to f2fs as I've never heard of a ROM flashing an f2fs file system yet.

If you fastboot back to stock using the Universal script. You can add back in the lines to format data. That way everything will be back to the normal. Also you can restore backups on top of a f2fs partition without any issues...

Yes. 2.8.0.0 is probably the last update I made for jbbl bootloader. So if your device meets the specs. Flash away.

Fidgered it oot . in settings menu, where you have option to use rmft? Instead of formatting. I have always checked that box as it has always seemed faster, even back on safestrap. After trying everything else , even a full "nuke and repave" I simply unchecked that box and booyaa, I'm in there. Got f2fs on data partition. Haven't rechecked it , and with f2fs haven't noticed wiping and flashing speed any different. I'm do happy I could just "spit"! Lesson here is just because you've always done it that way ,,,,don't mean its always gonna be the way to do it nowadays. Or ,,,,,wait for it,,,,. Old Dog, New TRICKS. YIPPEE KIYAY.

So 2.8.4.0 is out. From the changelog it seems like we won't need flashify or similar apps anymore. I wonder if Nobe has plans to port it to our device?

Nobe has been great at getting updates to us old phone fans even though he is busy.  I am sure he will take care of us as always

Now there's a 2.8.4.1 IMG. I need to figure out how to make it a zip because I'm stuck bootlooping with cm recovery.
