if you tell them you lost your phone of course you lost your sim also it is marked as lost in the system, no you cannot use it
you need to call and reactivate the new sim
Do it now you may not be able to later

It's working just fine. Just didn't know if I could get into some sort of trouble. I wouldn't mind using the other sim card it just wouldn't recognize it. Had it in and the phone kept telling me to insert the sim card.

I cant even believe they let it activate. If your phone is lost you shouldnt hVe the sim unless you didnt tell VZW.

If I were you, I would use the new sim. Just call the activation number that came with the new sim card, or on the activation instruction sheet. Your able to use the old one because the phone itself was reported lost not the sim, so maybe they didn't deactivate your old sim yet. But once you activate the new one the old sim is useless. If you don't want to risk having your phone not work incase Verizon actually deactivates your old sim, or if they see you are still using it, then its much easier to just activate the new one and not have to worry. Sim cards sometimes go bad and are always being upgraded, so I like to replace mine after several months. Also if you ever have to file a claim again, you want to make sure you are using all the new hardware... Because if by chance you do need a replacement for a lost phone again and you were using the same sim that you reported was lost with first phone, it will be a problem.

The only draw back is your phone # is insured that means the phone you are using when the sim is in it so if its list so should be the sim or it might not be insured.

So, what happens if you use this utility on 9.16.6?

Figured. Incidentally, I have a 926 that I had rooted and took the OTA, kept root, but the Wi-Fi stopped working. Anyone else had that experience?

Yes, happend to me.
Wi-Fi and Camera Panorama mode both broke, had to flash the 9.16.6 files with RSD, everything works but lost root.

Mattlgroff,

Wanted to extend thanks for your utility.

I recently moved from a Razr Maxx to the Razr Maxx HD. It was updated to 4.1.1 and I wanted to root it before the OTA upgrade to 4.1.2.

I'm glad to report that I'm running a rooted 4.1.2 this morning.

I did run into trouble getting the DROID RAZR HD Utility 1.10 to successfully execute step 1 (flashing back to 4.04).
Thought it would be helpful to mention it in case others are bumping into the same issue.

Typically I would get script error messages with a bunch of "cannot load" errors like:

I tried several things including:
  • running the .bat file in regular user mode (not as an administrator)
  • running the .bat file as administrator
  • running the .bat file in an elevated command prompt
  • using a different USB cable and USB port
  • rebooting the Win 7 x64 PC and the phone
What finally worked for me was to do a factory reset on the Droid Razr Maxx (and re-enable USB debugging).

Once in a factory reset state and in AP Fastboot mode, I was able to run the .bat file (without administrator privileges) successfully.

Many thanks,

sminar

Today I read online this utility can still work for devices that are running 4.1.2 ota so long as you go into all apps and find smart actions on the xt926 and uninstal the smart action updates and after doing so you can still utilize this fine utility ...can anyone confirm or deny this as I would like to gain root again?

You read that about the XT912, not the XT926. RAZR Versus RAZR HD.

I have a Razr Maxx HD running JB 4.1.2, rooted, with an unlocked bootloader. I understand that with an unlocked bootloader, things are different regarding what can be done with my phone now. My question is, can I now use this utility to downgrade to ICS?

It looks like he is on an xt925 so none of the utilities here will work.

Oh good catch. Yeah the Utilities have the 926 Verizon fastboot files.
