Did you root when you were on .6.25?? And then save root with voodoo before going to .7.2

yes...I redid the steps a few times. both #20 & 32.

Then you just need to apply the JB update in recovery

Is the forum goofed up again? Any way it should work in recovery as long as you go in rooted protected by voodoo. You need to be rooted on security patch before that though.

OMG! I dont know anymore what was going wrong- I was doing ok right up until the delta-ota-Blur_Version.0.7.2-9.1.41.XT926.Verizon.en.US.zip ...but I finally got it...THANK YOU for your HELP! YES, YES, YES....So excited! ONLY took 3 months!

So if we want to go back for any reason we can only use the utility up to a certain point get root. Then we need to either use fastboot or an external sd card to finish up. What about safestrap can we just install 3.12 like an app?

Wooddale, yes you use the utility to go back , then root while in 4.04 (ICS)
then save root with Voodo while there , then unroot saving it of course
then again using utility to upgrade with links because the links from motorola are not working
each step of the update with both updates enable root update binaries in SU
then resave root and unroot to do next update, then after your all the way back to Jelly bean
reroot using Voodo to enable.
and you don't need safestrap at all unless you want to do Roms it will cause all kinds of problems
if you install safestrap before your finished= no roms you don't needsafestrap

Thanks the reason why I ask is because I am curently rooted and on 3.05 safe. For some reason it wont let me update to 3.12. I tried everything something got buggered up and the only to fix it is to go back and start over. I am fine now but if I ever need to update safe I cant.

So i just got a Razr Maxx Hd. Had a rooted OG Razr. New to rooting the MaxxHD. It shipped with JB 4.1.1 Do I use this to go back to ICS and root?

Question:
I restore my phone with this utility and with motorola RSD but if I go into ##PROGRAM at the bottom says "device rooting" and it keeps saying "rooted" how can i put it back to unrooted?
Phone is fully stock right now but keeps detecting thats suposedly rooted.

based on your screenshot..... you have not extracted the utility to your desktop......... it appears that you are trying to run it from within the zip file...... extract the zip to your desktop then run the .bat file from there

BTW... i kinda dig your desktop wallpaper!!!

is the 1.82 Utility for ICS. If you are trying to get to JB might I suggest just using the newest Utility

and use option 1. That will get you on fresh JB

I extracted the utility and ran it from my desktop but it seems to still have the same issue? what gives?

It still doesn't look extracted. Did you extract just the batch file? A quick should of what should be in the extracted folder:

Why dont you just move the extracted folder to your desktop and run it?
