I have tried everything. I've spoken to Verizon who then refered me to Moto. Who had clear partition caches to no avail. Any and all voice recognition on my phone has ceased to work. Sometimes Google will open up to say " Can't reach google at the moment ". However if I manually open the search box Google now and all my cards are there. If I then hit the microphone icon It will again say "Can't reach google at the moment ". I'm at my wits end here. This will happen weather Im using my wifi or 4G signal. 


I've fxz'd and that didn't work. I will entertain any and all ideas.

Can you elaborate on that. I'm confused how the sim card would affect touchless controls.  

The phone works fine. In fact everything since the update is great except the touchless control.

It is having trouble with the connection to Google services which is a data related issue. If the SIM is having issues, it can affect all you data traffic regardless if you are on WiFi sometimes. You've fdr'd and fxz'd so there's not much else other than hardware.

Thank you. I will look into getting a new sim card. I fxz'd , but with saving data. I haven't fdr'd but I will tonight ( I really wanted to avoid that). Thanks for your help !

Well I got to tier 2 tech support at Moto and they want me to FDR it . I dont want to but I will. I just don't know if I should do it through TWRP or stock recovery ? Advice ?  Does it matter? They'll both do the same thing right. How will that effect my unlocked bootloader if at all ?

Won't effect anything but erase your data. Recovery won't matter. If you have twrp, why are you hesitant? Just back up your data. If the fdr doesn't help, just restore your backup

Ya I used twrp .. I forgot to make a new back up but I've got 1from last week so no big deal. FDR didn't work in fack it seems like it made it worse. Before when I said " OK google now" it would atleast open up the app. Now it doesn't even hear me. Kinda bummed out.  I'm pretty sure Moto will tell me I'm $#!+ out of luck cause I'm rooted and unlocked. Even though I'm sure that beong rooted and unlocked has absolutley nothing to do with this problem. I've seen a couple of threads on other sites where they are having the same exact problem. ... Oh well. I can live with no Google now until the Moto Nexus or the X+1DE comes out. I was going to get 1 of those anyways.

Just for kicks and giggles, after the fdr did you do all the updates to the apps and go in and re-enable the ok google functions in the settings?

When I go to train it, it doesn't hear me at all. In Googles search box setting I enabled the voice feature and it actually let's me train it. But when I then go to say the phrase it does the same thing

You have got to get it to work again if nothing else to save the wallpaper LOL.

The thread that kaos gave you is a good tool and will get you going again.  if you are getting the .jar file downloaded as a zip or rar file use a different browser.  firefox sometimes has a bad time with jar and apk files.  Follow his Sam's instructions to the letter and it will work for you.

 

Factory cable, usb 2.0 are both necessary.

My apologies, I got this thread mixed up with one where a person wasn't able to boot his device, and was having a hard time downloading the proper files and flashing his phone.  I wish I could help you with your issue.  Again sorry for the mix-up.
