File fragments are left over after file deletions which can cause faulty files after copying files to an sd card/internal memory. A wipe/format gives you a clean platter to place a nice file on so the system can read it without error. And Wonton, i appologize i didnt mean to sound like a jerk. But i wrote this guide from EXPERIENCE. and ive flashed 17 dazrs to the ota jb and kept root EVERYTIME. im pretty sure my directions are fine. Lmao

I definitely trust you and greatly appreciate all the help, I've been crack flashing my wife's, mine and 3 of my friend's razr's for a while so i know what I'm doing, but I'm really trying to find time in my day to get more into developing my own roms and such. But yeah just thought it was weird what some others were posting about the voodoo/root issue, just confused me cuz it went against what i trust in your guide, thanks again man, it's all good

Having problems fastbooting with Matt's utility, keep getting adb is not recognized as internal or external command operable program or batch file. Have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers and still get same issue, how can I fix this.

Have you unzipped the utility to your desktop?..... and running the .bat file from within the unzipped utility folder?.... then reboot both phone and computer then try again....

Well using the utility the same way I did to root gb and ice which is to open utility input proper number and hit inter. I thought the.bat files were the ones used when the utility didn't open. And I am using factory cable. Still no luck.

OK.... just so you know the file you run to get the command window to open where you can make the choices is in fact a .bat file :) .... the other files (failsafe files are also .bat files) ... now we are all on the same page LOL .... let's see if we can figure out your adb problem :)

1.... which utility are you actually using? Should be Matt's 1.82 utility .....

2.... typically the only reason that you will get the adb error is when the .bat file can't "see" the adb files that are included in the utility.... usually caused by not unzipping the file to desktop.... or trying to run the file from outside the utility file... or trying to run the file from within the zip.....

3.... (unrelated) I really dig your username..... you truck driver? :)

The only other thing I can think right off hand is maybe you have an incomplete utility, maybe try re downloading .... also although its rare, check your antivirus.... it may have deleted some of the files of the utility.....

I'm a driver too... :)

Youre welcome... anytime..... Just FYI.... when you go to download the 1.82 utility, There is a link close to the end of the 1.82 thread that has the updated su binaries and superuser.apk
.. so you won't need to worry about updating those.....

You're very welcome again.... I'm glad you got it working :) ... if you are debating updating to JB... read the dual boot thread.... you can "try it before you buy it" so to speak.... :)

Thanks for answering their questions, im not on here as much as i'd like to be due to no computer. lmao. but yes I recommend the try it before you buy it. I like Jellybean it's been flawless for me, and installation is simple and I had no reason to go back to be honest so i made the jump the second it was out and I have zero complaints. butif you screw up root your doomed until they crack jellybelly. and also, run PC maintenance if you have to. a fragmented file/folder/full hdd can impact the utility or whatever you're trying to do.

I followed your instructions to the letter to upgrade from ICS to JB, stuck at a dead droid when I try to load the .zip archive Blur_Version.6.16.211 which I loaded to the root of freshly formatted SD on my Droid Rzr MAXX (Verizon).

Any ideas what's wrong?

Thanks!
