so can i ask is this a dead issue?
i have a full working bootloader and complete set of everything to completely restore a 926 development edition phone. will that zip file help? i got it direct from motorola. i told them i had a 926 dev edition and it was all corrupted because someone loaded some weird rom onto it and it was all messed up. so they directed me to the files to install a locked loader and completely reflash the whole phone back to stock again. will these files help, cause i have one of the few phones that have been bricked to this manner. i have no video, but the battery stays charged, and the charging light will come on if i do a sequence of button pushes. and it does register as a quallcomm device in my device list. the drivers loaded automatically in windows 8.

and i gotta say this too, i went and looked at the page that they sent me with the directions how to use fastboot to reload the phones, and the loader that i have is unlocked,,,everything is unlocked, and all there, and there is a batch file telling fastboot what to do,,,and the final instructions say that after you reload these, that you have to go back into fastboot, and do an oem lock commend locking the bootloader, so this is a complete flash of everything.

It would be best to take down the link until Sam can respond back that this will actually work correctly. That is the whole reason I suggested via PM.. People don't start using this until some hard core research gets done on this. It may be a gift from the Gods for restoring the phone, but it could also be something that might cause the device unresponsive.
Thanks in Advance,,,

I don't know where you got that file, but, it's not what you're claiming it to be. It's a Droid Ultra 4.4 modified FXZ. Modified not by Moto. If you were to flash this to an XT926, it would instantly perma-brick the phone. You would end up with a QUALCOMM HS-USB QDloader 9008 error. No one should ever flash this file.

That's what happens when you start getting files from "they." Have you tried using the official firmware from the SBF site?

It most definitely was not. It's a very old (4.4) FXZ for the Droid Ultra. From like December last year. And it looks to have been modified so it's not even the original FXZ. If you flashed that to a 926, it would brick in such a way as to not even have fastboot anymore. Meaning a permanent brick.

the phone was in boot loop. so i contacted them and told them that i needed the complete flash everything, including the bootloader. the forum owner at motorolla contacted me via email and gave me that zip file to restore my phone. sounds to me it was more like he wanted to zap my phone to provide job security in the sense that i'd have to buy another.
