NOTE:  The FXZ I just linked to differs *ONLY* by the XML.  The partitions are IDENTICAL.  So if you flashed "the old one" it's EXACTLY THE SAME as this "new one".

But it's newer so it has to be MORE stock, right?!?!?!?

:D

Which is why it's in quotes. "newer" in this case means "changed xml file".

and by applying basic XDA user logic, this file should be better and more stock!

Trust me, I'm painfully aware of that mindset.  Which is why they got warned on XDA to not do that else they'll incur my wrath.  LMAO.  Not that any of them care.

True Dat, I swing over there to see what's going on (hoping Eclipse will be upgraded to 4.4.4 then I'll have a reason to upgrade the MX) but I really get tired of reading the same questions on why they can't root, how can they root and how the OTA borked their system and now they are bricked. I don't really understand the mindset of having someone hand-hold you through a procedure when you wont bother to read/research a little yourself before hand!

I've been telling all the people that have been PM'ing me for hand holding sessions lately the same thing.  LMAO

Because they're too lazy to read and or research a thread because it takes time....they would rather post a new thread or ask the same question over and over again.

After going to 4.4.4, can you still temp root with pie/towelroot? I've looked and can't find anything about root on 4.4.4. I can deal with the temp root, cause I rarely restart my phone, but after going to this version, those options don't seem to work. Maybe I'm wrong though or doing something wrong to do it.

Nope.  No root for 4.4.4 on locked devices.

Yeah, let's not discuss that here. DR does not condone the use of illegally obtained unlock codes.

I'm going to leave this here for anyone that wants it.  They pulled the radio from the MAXX 4.4.4 update and it's newer than the build you guys just got.  So uh, yea, that's odd.  Apparently it works pretty well.

Has anyone tried this on their X after doing the 4.4.4 update? Did you notice any improvement?

Lots of people have and they do notice an improvement.  Just know that when a new update comes out you'll have to flash the radios back to take the OTA or flash the new FXZ.

I took the FXZ for this one because I didn't want to flash back to stock and lose data, so I guess I'll just do that next time as well. Any idea where I could get the stock radios so I can have them when the time comes? Also, I wouldn't need a special FXZ next time because of my radios right? Just the one someone makes for the OTA (like the one you made for 4.4.4)?

You have the FXZ with stock radios in the OP of this thread.  LOL.  And no, FXZ's don't give a flying frog what's on your phone.

And FXZ's aren't "made"....they're leaked.

I also flashed the MAXX radios but I still haven't updated to 4.4.4 yet. I would say the radios are working pretty well, the 3G - 4G switch over seems to be a lot faster than before but I can't say much on the sensitivity since I'm now spending most of my time on WIFI except when I'm driving and when I'm driving, I pay attention to what I'm doing and not the phone (much safer that way).
