I just got my Nexus 7 yesterday and have been playing around with it. Google and Tucstwo have been my life line for finding everything that I may need for this tablet and lets face it, there are TONS of choices out there. So whats your setup? What rom you running, kernal, general setup, and anything else that you think is a must have. I haven't had a fully customizable devices since the Droid 1 and I feel like I have almost forgotten everything we can do lol.

I don't have this tablet, but my friend has said he recommends Trinity and Clemsyns Elite battery saving kernel.

Lots of good information there. Yes Trinity was nice. Think this time I'm heading to be trying out Motley Kernal Classic and for a ROM Cookies n Cream.

Running stock isn't all that bad. Goolge did such a fine job with JB and the harware mixes so smoothly

The Clemsyn Kernels are based on the Motley kernels. He has 2.

. I hate the "phablet" interface and PA give you the ability to run in full tablet mode without having to change the LCD Density. I found that lowering the LCD density below its threshold of 177 to achieve full tablet mode made everything WAY too small on a 7 inch tablet and I was fat fingering everything when I typed.

To answer Thach's question. I am right now up to date on last nights Paranoid Android rom (4.1.2) in Tablet mode, stock dpi. Stock kernel as I don't believe Clemsyn Elite has been updated for 4.1.2 yet. I'm not concerned with battery life so I've never bother with extreme undervolt.

Just got mine the other day. I just rooted the other day. Waiting till there is more development with 4.2 to put any Roms or kernals on it.

Got mine last week and unlocked/rooted before I did anything. I did go to 4.2 stock to get rid of the annoying updater notifications. I'm thinking about flashing CM10 since that's what I also use as a DD on my Bionic but I'm waiting for 10.1 on the N7 to come out.

I did install TWRP recovery yesterday. Does anyone know if there is a multi-ROM recovery like SafeStrap for the N7?

In the meantime this is a great little machine!

It essentially mounts after the kernel and before the ROM, allowing you to choose which ROM you want to boot. It also has a custom TWRP recovery. I think the only limitation is the amount of RAM on the N7. There is also support to load Ubuntu 13.04 as a ROM.

I'm now running Stock 4.2.1 and CM 10.1

I love my N7. Got it back in August. I ran stock for a while and played around with some ROMs. It is definitely a gadget for me so I'm not too concerned about battery kernels and such. I just have the WiFi turn off when it goes to sleep. I'm settled in on CM10 nightlies for now. Looking forward to 10.1.

Just picked up the 32gb yesterday and took all the updates to 4.2.1, then unlocked the boot loader and rooted it. I'm currently running glazed jellybean with the Franco kernal. I was against tablets for the longest time, but this bad boy is freaking amazing! I'm looking into dash mounting it in my explorer as well, just gotta save some money to buy the supplies.

Well I got the nexus 10 running the latest cm 10.1 nightly. Very happy with it. Charge time is a little long but stand by and heavy usage time is incredible.

I just got my nexus 7 last week. I also took all the updates then unlocked the boot loader and rooted. I have had all moto devices so this is my first device with an unlockable bootloader. I must say its awesome!! Running Smooth ROM with the brick kernel and I am getting great performance and battery life. Now I can also test my themes on a tablet instead of just phones.

Yeah the unlocked bootloader makes a big difference. I've owned a few devices that had unlockable bootloaders and that spoiled me lol. Plus with the nexus you are almost guaranteed updates lol.Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Xparent ICS Tapatalk 2
