With some tweaking I think I can get this to work. This background only affects the contacts dialer and was an experiment to see exactly what dimensions and layout that would show up. I forgot the bottom dialer background when I slipped all this into my Black and cyan test zip

you have to make it #ffffff or #ffffffff make sure the # is there...if it is then try using the 8 f's

Have you searched xda for ics apktool?

Yeah use ICS apktool and make sure you are using the correct framework-res.apk to decompile and recompile by using framework-if option

Because I can't seem to get command lines to work, I've been using the multi tool setup because it had a script that ran everything. I have downloaded so many versions and variations of APK tool that it took me a bit to find the ICS that I downloaded. I was able to get it to recompile but I decided to try manually adding the few .pngs afterward because I have read how finicky it is with. 9 Pngs
Boot loop
I tried to add the images and then recompile. Had more errors than I can count.
I truly appreciate all the help I have received with this, but no matter what I've I tried, multiple programs.. multiple ways..I can't seem to get it working.

Are you adding a custom theme application on the next update? No offense to your work, but it would be cool if we can change the toggles on the notification tray. I'm a big fan of AOKP's simplicity but I was really missing my blur. I'm glad i came across this rom. It's very smooth and has a $#!+ ton of awesome features. I have never been able to figure out the command line things either... (never really tried.. lol) but If you download ICS apktool from

then take the apktool.jar file and copy it... then put it in C:\Program Files\Virtuous Ten Studio\External\ApkTool\

then set your VTS to use apktool.jar as your default in options (have to change in the apk under solutions if in the middle of a build)

Make sure if your putting them into a zip to uncheck the signature box also

then just right click and build project... it will recompile it and put the finished product in C:\Users\ "YOUR COMPUTER NAME" \Documents\Virtuous Ten Studio\Projects\framework-res_IcarusHD1.5\Browser\Binary
(if windows xp it will be under documents and settings\ computername

I have not had one fail on me yet doing this. Hope this is understandable, I suck and explaining things.

BTW after \Projects\ __________\browser where I have framework-res_IcarusHD1.5 it will be whatever you name your project.

grrr my wifi hotspot won't work anymore. it starts then shuts off and says error. I rebooted, same problem. I shut down my overclocking and went to stock. nope.

but the wifi tether app does work. So I'll use that.

no biggie. just reporting.

One thing I will have to admit about myself is that I really hate it when I can't get something to work.I play it over in my mind until I get it...it consumes my mind much more than it should! I finally was able to get 4 measly XML framework files changed,recompiled and flashed! It might sound like nothing to most but this has been the biggest issue I have had since I first started toying with .apks! I retried VTS and read about 100 posts over at XDA and eureaka....
