I haven't update to 1.5 yet. Didn't realize it was out until today and have Not had much time to mess with phone.
I'm downloading it now and will take v1.0 out of the equation.

Sent from my HoB'd .246 Bionic

Voicemail is all set on 1.5
Thanks for all your work and support.
The rom is great so far. I just gotta get the battery life where I want it and I'll be perfectly happy.

OK, what am I doing wrong? I'm not new to rooting or flashing but I am a noob with TWRP. I'm getting low-memory warnings and the culprit is my safestrap folder with over 5.3Gb being taken up.

On my stock slot, I wiped cache, did factory reset, wiped dalvik (did a full back up before all of this). I assume that this gets rid of all my user apps. While in TWRP, I deleted unnecessary user folders that I had already backed up on my external SD card. This left me with just under 5Gb of free space on my internal SD.

I created slot-1 for Icarus and picked the 4Gb radio button since I seemed to have plenty of free space now. Flashed Icarus and got up and running. BTW, I still thing this is a really beautiful and clean ROM which, so far, has been really fast. I signed into Google and then started getting the low-memory warnings. I looked to see what was taking up so much space and it turned out that my safestrap folder is what's killing me. In 3 folders under safestrap, is 5.3Gb of stuff: orig=1.37 Gb, rom-slot1=3.88Gb and safe=22.9Mb.

Did I totally misunderstand what the purpose of rom-slot1 was for? I assumed that the larger space I gave it, the more room I would have for actual apps. I tried this before, a couple of days ago and chose the 1Gb but got low-memory warnings on that too but with help from other folks on the forum, I found out that it was because all of my user apps on the stock ROM were still there eating up space. I really have no intention of going back to my stock ROM but it's got a full backup if I every need it. I'm so used to using CWM where I wipe and install as a single ROM only (going back to my OG Droid days...I miss that beast).

It didn't work..
It will fc when trying to open Gallery.
It put (2) 3x3 Photo Gallery widgets under widgets. The first one is blank and the second one looks correct, but when you try to add it, nothing happens.

I got it working :P

This is what I did:

1. Unzipped ICARUSHD 1.0 using 7Zip and copied the Gallery2.apk onto my SDcard.

2. Using a file manager app, I deleted Gallery2.apk and GalleryGoogle.apk files from System/App folder.

3. I copied Gallery2.apk from my SDcard to System/App folder. (This is from ICARUSHD 1.0)

4. Rebooted phone and now everything works like before.

Because you are also making a backup of your unsafe(stock) install, you need to take that into account when setting up slots. I have mine setup for 1 gig slots and since my music/pics/.zips/Titanium backup, etc are all on SDext, I have not had any low memory issues with 3 slots( Icarus/CM10/CNA) used and my stock backed up.

if you only have 5gb free space on there then you cant choose the biggest data partition size cause all your space will be gone. what i recommend is deleting slot 1, recreate it with 1gb data, install IcarusHD, restore any apps you had saved(or redownload them), go back to recovery and do a backup...then if you get that warning again at some point after adding more and more apps, you can do another backup, delete slot 1 again, remake it with 2gb data, then restore the backup you just made. this way you are only using what you need. I have a 2gb data on slot 1 and like 230 apps (all together) and i have plenty of data space left on slot 1...still! :D

I tried doing with a 1Gb slot and got the low memory warnings too. I'm sure it's something stupid, I'm doing in the setup but I can't figure it out yet. All of my music, photos, etc. are on the SD and my backup is also on the the SD. So I wonder why it's showing up on the internal?.?.?. Hmmmm

I'll be trying that very thing on the train ride home this afternoon. My poor phone is over a year old, so the battery doesn't last very long anymore (I use my phone as a work horse). I'm glad I haven't started to load more than a keyboard on Icarus yet. I so wanna make this work out.

So, then, I have to ask. When TWRP creates the 1, 2 or 3 Gb data partition; it isn't a recreation of the internal SD for working room (user apps). It seems to be that it's a data partition for the system. Is that correct? It would really explain why I'm goofin' it up.

no thats what the system partition (600mb) is for...what this does is takes a chunk of your data and marks it for that specific slot. meaning that on another slot you cant access it. so if you have other slots created with nothing on them it will still use what ever data you allocated to it. What you can also try is copying your entire internal memory to the pc and then formatting internal storage, then adding back what ever you still want on your phone...any backups and stuff put on your external and if need be transfer one over to use it. my phone is about a year old and the battery is still good so the battery drain probably has to do with the limited space problem.

I followed the advice and it's looking much better now. I'm back on a 1Gb slot. Sorry about the confusion. I'm just so used to flashing over whatever I had on there before. Having slots was just hurtin' my poor little brain. I really appreciate the explanation too. It will help when I go to root my Transformer Prime later since it will also use TWRP. :D MANY THANKS for your hard work and patience.

I've been playing with SS.05 a little and I've found that I can just have 3 slots active and have as many ROMs backed up as my sdcardext will hold. I've got 8 right now and I go in and delete as I update. They are in the twrp folder you have to click twice. It works like ss2 and ss did. Just restore your backups when ya want to. EZPZ.
