I'm attempting to restore a slot-1 backup of Icarus, after a failed install of CM10.1; the restore was supposedly successful, but it won't reboot. The Litespeed animation comes up then freezes, then loops.

Is this recoverable or am I going to have reinstall?

did you do a wipe of cache, dalvik and system before you did the restore? I know it probably shouldn't be necessary, but I've found that the most reliable way to make sure my restores go smoothly and since you're going from JB back to ICS, it sure couldn't hurt.

I did not do the system wipe; I'm trying that now, and redo the restore.

One bootloop occurred, but second boot brought up the restore. Thanks for the assist.

Fresh install on wife's bionic. She, I lost all her contacts. Asked her if she had them backed up to Google and she said yes. Now she's pissed at me. First time she let me put a ROM on her phone and now I'm a zero.

Somehow I don't think flashing back to stock will make them magically reappear. Any ideas.

What do you mean by flashing back to stock? If you mean that they are on the Stock ROM slot, then yes, switching back to the stock ROM slot will get them back. Then you can back them up using an app from the Play Store or sync them using Google.

Stock slot has a freshly fxz stock. On it. She's coming from a droid x. And when I asked her if she had backed up all her contacts to Google. She said yes and backup assistant, I said cool. Fail. Now I'm the bad guy. All I've found is ba plus. I'm not sure if its the same. I'm gonna try activating stock and letting her set it up with ba, might work .

Well if you haven't gotten rid of the Droid X yet you can back up your contacts onto a microSD and then transfer them over

Ya thought of that. Its in San Marcos. Running miui. That's 2 1/2 hrs away. She's just gonna enter them manually like she had to when she got the x. She's not too mad anymore. I'm gonna DL the theme pack and let her pick some options and maybe that will get me, us back in her good graces. She has very strong likes and dislikes about things and is much more set in her ways than I am.

Actually got her contacts back by going to my vzw. Didn't get all of them but 107 out of about 120 she can deal with.tried to DL the utility last night but my 4g at the ranch has gone to crap and on 3g the server timed out. Gonna DL today here in Sugar land and transfer when I get home.

I extracted the utility on laptop(win7) and all I see is files. I know that's the way its supposed to be. I wish there was a way to attach a small picture of each mod. That way wives can scroll through all until they say ooh pretty I want that one, instead of flash and see. Deb is reluctant to try new things and at this point I'm gonna just flash my phone till she sees one and says ooh pretty, OK flash that on mind. Gaahh the lengths we go to please our women.

Really strange. Downloaded 1.74 & tried to install in Slot 2 on SS 3.11 & soft bricked the phone (dead Android, Red Exclamation). I'm assuming my DL is corrupt or something? I'll Re-DL & try again

Sounds like you got dumped into stock recovery.

Absolutely not. My stock is OTA official Motorla/Verizon ICS 4.0.4 (.246) & I just booted into it with no issues. I installed Eclipse 1.3 into Rom Slot 2 & it's fully functional. Must be my download or my SD card. I'll place the ZIP on my internal storage & install from there

EDIT: Yup that was it. It's that stupid 32GB SD card. I cannot copy any large files (100MB or more) through the mini USB & have them be reliable. I had to take the micro SD card, plug it into a standard SD adapter then copy the files to the SD card Or I can install from the internal SD that worked too.

Seems like transferring larger files through the Bionic doesn't work very well

updated the utility post just the themes made by jayrod and bamafan39 cause Ethan82691's are IHD stock colored differently, meaning nothing is changed as far as icons and what not...ENJOY!
