Without know what was truly on it before? No one is going to be able to reliably tell you how to fix it. They could guess, but, the wrong guess leads to a bricked phone. I'm not willing to try.

I see. I understand you.

Without advising what to do exactly may you direct me where I may search, please?

All liability is mine. Thank you.

You'll need to search for the FXZ.  motofirmware seems to be down.  So you'll have to search for it.  Given that it's a 925, I'd probably try to flash a 925 FXZ, but, if it's got something else on it, who knows what'll happen.

Hi again,

Unfortunately did not have time to play with it till now.

A few changes since last time posted.

BL is UNLOCKED now.

Managed to install TWRP 2.8.7.0 for XT925 (tried other versions of twrp and also clockwork/philz but no luck).

Wanted to backup the phone before do any ROM flashing but TWRP cannot mount /data.

Does it mean my /data partition is gone with all my data??

Read countless threads regarding it but just got completely confused...

Read the HoM thread also and have a question - which tool RSD Flasher (with RSD Lite) or HoM would be best option for me?

Thank you for all your help so far and in advance.

Doesn't matter which app you use.  However, if you're unable to mount your data partition, that is a good indication that it's corrupt and is what's causing your problems.

Hi SamuriHL, thank you for quick answer.

Is there a way I can restore data from /data partition in this case?

If I flash a new ROM with KEEP DATA/UNIVERSAL it still will not fix my XT925, right? Because of corrupted /data partition?

Nope.  If the data partition is fried there's not much you can do about it.

JUST RESOLVED THE PROBLEM, BY CHARGING THE BATTERY! Thanks to Mr. Blue Coat's note published at:

RSD Lite proceeded to flash like a charm! :-)

==========================

Can someone here give me a hand solving a flashing problem with my RAZR M XT907? Thanks to this forum, I've been able to solve the "beady flashing red eye" that hangs at boot. However, the problem seems to recur, periodically. This time, using RSD Lite, I get a FAIL, and (having read the above), I post the SWDL text, as follows:

Only a few possibilities.  USB cable, USB port (make sure it's USB 2), driver issue, or the flash ram died which has happened far too much on the old xt9xx devices.

So i read the last couple of posts, and i might be in a situation where there is a physical failure in the phone. But, i'll post here anyways (though i think i'm repeating the last problem post, sans the battery issue). The current state of the phone is bricked. I was not doing anything with the phone when it happened. My wife said the phone's led was blinking but the screen would not come up when she pressed the power button. So i told her to hold the volume down and power button for 15 seconds. That's when it booted to the Motorola red eye and stayed there... all night.

I attempted to follow the above instructions TO A TEE and when i clicked on "Flash Keep Data", a User Access Control window popped up asking if i wanted to allow SDL.exe to run (or make changes, yada yada) and i clicked yes (i configured the shortcut to run the program as administrator based on some other posts i saw online). It seems that RSD Lite launched because a window popped up, but it went away real quick and then nothing... all windows related to this exercise were closed. So, i opened RSD Lite and loaded up my xml.zip file. After decompressing, i selected my device (the only device listed) and clicked on "Start". It failed on the first step with the following message in the Status column, "Failed flashing process. 1/17 flash partition "gpt.bin" -> Phone returned FAIL.". Also, in the device properties pane of RSD Lite, everything (ESN, Technology, etc.) is listed as N/A. Not sure if that is pertinent, but is probably related to some messages in the SWDL.txt file. Also, on the AP Fastboot screen, i've watched and sometimes the battery is reported as LOW, but when i tried this procedure, the battery was reported as OK. I also looked in Device Manager (Win 7, 64-bit, Lenovo E520) and the USB Controller has an "Intel® 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 1C26" listed, which seems to indicate this is indeed a USB 2.0 port on my machine (that and the spec sheet for the E520 says all three ports are 2.0). Lastly, i'm using the original USB cable as well as tried another.

-Model of phone : Droid Razr Maxx HD (XT926)
-Current version you are on : KDA20.62-15 (found on the triage screen, the one with the belly up droid with the red triangle coming out of his chest... phone is bricked and no other way to get system information)
-FXZ filename you are flashing : VZW_XT926_4.4.2-KDA20.62-15.1_1FF.xml.zip
-Which option you are trying to flash [FULL/KEEP DATA/UNIVERSAL] : KEEP
-The contents of the SWDL.txt file in your RSD Lite installation directory : see below
-Any other relevant information that will help me help you : on the AP Fastboot screen, i find "Device is LOCKED. Status Code: 0" and "Battery : OK". I'm not sure if there is any other relevant info on that screen. I did try a "wipe cache" option from triage screen. I've also done a "factory reset" somewhere along the way. USB ports on PC are 2.0. Device Manager shows the Moto USB drivers installed. Used Moto USB cable and tried another.

This tool worked on our unrooted xt926, which got stuck on red-eye during travel.  Thank you SamuriHL!

Glad to see others still holding onto their old Droid RAZRs, although it isn't all smiles and sunshine.

In case this info is helpful to others:

Win7

Motorola Device Manager 2.5.4, Motorola Mobile Drivers Installation 6.4.0

RSDLite 6.2.4 (set to run as admin)

Java 8 Update 66

VZW_XT926_4.4.2-KDA20.62-15.1_1FF.xml

USB cable from my xt912

Thank you so much for precise, step-by-step instructions.
After investing 8 hours attempting to recover my wife's device, and writing off as landfill, I followed your guidance.
Her device is now functioning, and it appears all data has been retained.
After a brief, dynamic celebration of success, including yipes of being a bad rear end, it occurred to me that the level of expertise of people like YOU so far exceeds my meager competence to follow instructions, I feel minor in the world of knowledgeable people like you.
Highest of compliments, and great gratitude to you.
Thank you, sincerely.
Mr. C
