I always uninstall recovery first. Delete the apk. Then install the new apk and reinstall recovery. Extra steps but im OCD. Im sure you can just delete the old apk, install the new apk, and install recovery.

I actually had to reinstall 3.05 so I could uninstall recovery - safestrap was working just fine but couldn't find the app anywhere on my stock side. Followed Obsidian's instructions (a few posts up) and newest version 3.11 is working nicely. One thing I did notice on my bionic is that in order to activate SS command center (Menu) or let it boot through (Search), I now have to hit the space above the capacitative buttons instead of the button itself. Other than that, flawless. Thanks again Hash for an amazing tool that allows us to crackflash to our heart's content.

In Hash's blog, it gives directions for moving from 2.x to 3.x, basically remove 2.x and start fresh with 3.x, but what about moving between 3.x releases?

Few people on XD said they just installed 3.11 right over the top of 3.05 with no problem. Of course I don't have enough posts to ask questions in a DEV thread to ask them if it wiped out their existing rom slots. Anyone done a dirty install of 3.11 over 3.05 yet? I have Icarus in slot 1 as my daily driver and after weeks of tweeking I have it just right. If I'm going to loose it and start again from scratch (probably safest I suppose) I'd rather hang out on 3.05 for the next major upgrade to SS.

Having said that, Hash, you're awesome for all this safestrap work. Just thought I'd take the opportunity to say it.

Does anybody know if you can rearrange ROM slots? For example I have Eclipse ICS in slot 1 but I want to make room for CM10. If I nandroid slot 1, can I restore to slot 2?

I was planning to try this as well, can't see why not, as long as the slots are the same size...

Exactly. I believe the restore process wipes data and system as it restores so we should be good to go. I may mess around with this later today too...

Just an FYI but it seemed to work just fine. Making room for CM10 in slot 1 now.

I've already done this twice... also, the only issue I ran into was when I tried to put a ROM with 1.3 Gb of data into a slot with 1Gb. But you can mix and match data partition sizes.

Not sure yet but couldn't get data working over mobile. Will look at it later. I did a full wipe with a system reset before installing CM10.

Try deleting and then remaking the slot

Hmm? For some reason my wireless was on GSM. Put it back to LTE/CDMA/EvDO and it works now.

Updated to v3.11. Working solid so far but battery % is not available. So I might switch back to v3.05. Thanks for the update though.
