Everything worked out great!

I bought an aftermarket Bionic that was on a leaked ICS rom, but was able to get it back on the OTA so that I could upgrade to the official ICS release. I'm a semi-noob when it comes to this stuff, so many thanks Moot Master for the great thread and links!!!

I have a Bionic that I have no clue what version it is running since it will not boot past the "Droid" screen, which version should I try and flash via RSD? Thanks in advance.

.246 fxz would be your safest bet, you can always go forward but can never go back.

You can flash any of the official FXZ, but if you don't flash .246 then your phone will eventually start bugging you to update.

.246 is the current software release. As B said, you can't go back, but 99% of people have no need to go back. Might as well be current.

The problem with that is that if you flash something lower than what's currently on it, it'll brick it and cause more problems. Safer to just bite the bullet and FXZ 246 onto it.

Installing the House Of Bionic:

o) Install the Moto Device Manager (driver):

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

o) Install the SamuriHL_HouseOfBionic_(9.x).exe
o) Install the FXZ by following the directions below for "Installing FXZ"
o) Install the SamuriHL_HouseOfBionic_RSD_(x.xx).exe

NOTE: These are not "optional". If you don't install them and "it doesn't work" too goddamn bad.

Where can I download this file: "SamuriHL_HouseOfBionic_RSD_(x.xx).exe"

I was running the stock version 5.9.905 Gingerbread ROM on my rooted Bionic when I decided to load the Eclipse ICS ROM, per the instructions at droidbionicroot.com. Because I'm a noob, and because the video and article on that site don't explain that you need to be on another ICS version before loading the Eclipse ICS ROM, I ended up bricking my phone. It got stuck at the Motorola logo on startup. So I tried using RSD lite to install the stock ICS ROM on the phone, per the instructions at droidbionicroot.com. Then I ended up with a black screen, which brought me to this forum (which is probably where I should have been from the beginning). I've tried using RSD lite to install several of sargentmajord's FXZs, but as another poster experienced, I get the following error each time (unlike the other user, however, I was not using an HoB utility. I was just using RSD lite.):

Per sargentmajord's recommendation in step 5 of his instructions, I downloaded and ran the FixCDT utility, but I get the following error when I run that:

             writing 'cdt.bin'... INFOPreflash validation failure
FAILED (remote: )
Press any key to continue . . .

Can anyone identify what I'm doing wrong or provide a link/recommendation on how to fix my phone? Thanks so much for reading.

In case any of this is of interest... I am using an OEM cable in a USB 2.0 port on my computer. I am selecting AP Fastboot from my phone's menu. Am I doing anything wrong or is my phone just REALLY screwed up? Thanks again.
