ok tried fastbooting using rsd lite and it worked, however when i tried using rosenbergs exploit it wasnt able to root (see attached link for screenshot)

gonna try rooting with the windows utility however i have a feeling it wont work. ill try anyway. anyone else got any other ideas? thanks again for your help.

actually the windows utility did it. i got root weird man....why would the windows utility work and not the LinuxMac utility? not even the rosenberg exploit worked. anyways, thanks for all your guys' help....it is much appreciated. now time to ROM this b**ch! might give kexec a try

I find it weird that the utility (windows or linuxmac) was giving you trouble..... glad you got it with RSD Lite tho..(which actually has NOT worked for some)........ no prob helping, thats what we're here for ......

yea right? totally strange. i actually just tried the LinuxMacUtility to push SS to my phone and still have the same prob, however when i use the windows utility to push SS it worked just fine. i am running lion (not mountain lion) on my mac. maybe that has something to do with it? :/ regardless im just glad i have a virtual windows machine on my mac to use the utility

im not as familiar with Mac as i am with Linux so that may be the prob...may not... someone with more Mac knowledge would have to answer that one....... bottom line tho, cases like this are EXACTLY why we have different varaitions of the Utility.....

I'm trying to run option 1 on a mac and it's been hung on "rebooting into bootloader" for about 10 minutes. What should I do? Here is the output in the terminal...

Nevermind, all I had to do was restart and it worked. It's running correctly now (fingers crossed)

hmmm... thats an odd error..... maybe try toggling your USB .... (unplug then plug back in) ..... i really hate suggesting that but sometimes it does work..... if that does not work.... try rebooting your computer ... and your phone (if it will let you at this point) it may boot right into AP Fastboot.... will need to work rather quickly as your phone will not charge while in AP Fastboot and we do not want a dead battery in the middle of flashing.... speaking of which, how full was your battery when you started?

Hey, trying to fastboot back to stock .211 and the option 1 is going through but it's getting stuck at random parts (like "sending boot") for way too long. I restarted the utility like 3 times but each time it's getting stuck at some part after pressing enter twice. This is really weird and I hope I can find a solution before my phone loses it's charge... will try the Windows utility once I get a hold of a PC.

Some steps take 2-3 minutes, even with alot of RAM. My Macbook seemed liked it took forever because i didn't have enough ram, to the point i was afraid to let it finish in fear of draining the battery. The other possible issue could be an intermittent connection. Try a different USB port and cable, if you happen to have one.

Also I don't know if this matters but on the AP fastboot screen it says "Devices is LOCKED", do I have to do something to unlock it?

device locked is normal....... when it hangs, try unplugging the usb.... then plugging it back in...... i hate recommending doing that but sometimes it works and then the utility continues.........

If you do figure that out, you will be a god amongst men! No one has an unlocked bootloader, except the Developer Edition.

Trust me, we all have brain farts! Rebooting the computer and only letting the utility run has helped me in the past, if it is a low RAM issue.

Awesome, I was able to boot into stock .211!!! Man, I almost had a mini heart attack. Now it's time to root and install Jellybean!

maybe check out the Dual boot thread....... then you can have JB but still keep ICS so you will be able to run this utility again if needed..... once you upgrade to JB there is NO GOING BACK to ICS.......

Thanks, I think I will go with the dual boot. For some reason I'm not able to root with this utility on my Mac, but I got a hold of a PC so I'm gonna use the dual boot utility to root and so on...

i have a linux mac version of the dual boot..... and there is another one posted on the thread as well if you want.....
